Anyone fancy some racing tonight? Caught the bug and got a weekend off. I have next weekend off too and it's been a long time since we did a Top Gear style challenge, is anyone up for it? Got a plan in mind - it's all free mode so your patience will probably be the limiting factor but I think I have some interesting ideas.
Sorry again to Bob for that move in the last race. I was frustrated how I felt I'd driven as hard as I could and got no points to show for it. At least I managed to resist going on a rampage in freemode after.
So I mentioned that we've not had a Top Gear challenge in a long, long time. I've been kind of umm-ing and aah-ing over classes to do it in since we've done most of the categories and including new cars gets prohibitively expensive. So this one is going to be a free-mode challenge, and for which I hope you guys are able to control yourselves in between runs for the actual race series. Otherwise, hopefully we can get it all done.
So the multi-class challenge theme is Pickup Trucks, good old American staple. Couple of rules.
1) The vehicle must have an easily accessible rear bed that a player can stand in
i.e. The Rat-Loader only counts if it has an actual bed, not the pile of rubbish on the back or the exposed rear axle. The Arena War variants of the Slamvan can't be used for this reason.
2) The following vehicles are banned:
Yosemite
Kamacho
Anything with a gun on the top (Technical, Caracara etc)
So this leaves the challenge open basically from Sandking to Picador and anything in between. GTA Wiki has a page with suggestions but some wouldn't qualify and I'm up for giving bonus points for originality

- Haulage Capacity - how much can you fit in the bed?
- Offroad Ability - how good is it on the dirt?
- Autocross - small and tight course, how quick can you navigate it? Route to be revealed Saturday.
- Towing - can it pull a trailer?
- Seats - how many people can fit in it?
- Price - is it good value?
Well last night I joined a race lobby with that Markus guy we've been racing with recently and I've never seen anything like it! A full lobby with some incredible racers, with some serious stats (one guy had won 8,000 races, and lost 18,000!!)
Panic Stations came up, and I thought 'ah, here's my chance' - Got my fastest ever cleanest lap (1m50s) and came third - fastest lap was 1m 46s!! 4 seconds quicker! "
On the GOH" I thought I had a clean fast lap and was beaten by nearly 10 seconds lol

All I ever win on that bloody wheel are items of clothing I’ll never put on. Me and guacamole were racing those guys for an hour after you left. Best I managed was third. They are super fast and take some interesting lines. Nice it was non contact too. See you guys if you’re on later. Decided against the Sadler challenger. Too hateful and dull.
