The code for talking is :-
SpeechSynthesizer synth = new SpeechSynthesizer();
synth.SelectVoice("Microsoft Hazel Desktop");
synth.Volume = PCLapUpdater.Properties.Settings.Default.SynthVol;
synth.SpeakAsync(talkmessage);
I'm on Windows 10 and she still exists, just picked Hazel because she sounded the least likely to say CockWomble
SpeechSynthesizer synth = new SpeechSynthesizer();
synth.SelectVoice("Microsoft Hazel Desktop");
synth.Volume = PCLapUpdater.Properties.Settings.Default.SynthVol;
synth.SpeakAsync(talkmessage);

I was almost the same, mine wasSpeechSynthesizer synth = new SpeechSynthesizer();
synth.SelectVoice("Microsoft Hazel Desktop");
synth.Volume = PCLapUpdater.Properties.Settings.Default.SynthVol;
synth.SpeakAsync(talkmessage);

SpeechSynthesizer ss = new SpeechSynthesizer();
ss.Speak("testing");
If Hazel is set to default, you don't need to do the SelectVoice() but I get why you did it. Something like this would nix the issue completely, depending if you don't mind using Linq:
if ((ss.GetInstalledVoices().Where(x => x.VoiceInfo.Name.Contains("Microsoft Hazel Desktop")).Count() > 0))
{
ss.SelectVoice("Microsoft Hazel Desktop");
}
That way you can mandate the less robotic Hazel, but fall back to the default in cases where it isn't available. This really should only affect people on Win7 though, so it's not a huge amount of people I'd guess...
So, I'm definitely interested in joining when PC2 is released (I will be on PS4), but I have a question. I've played a fair amount of PC1 but have more recently been playing Assetto. Stuck PC1 back on today and it felt NASTY in comparison. AC forces you to drive smoothly, brake early and control the throttle, with decent FFB to tell you what's going on. Similar driving in PC1 results in slow laptimes and the FFB felt dead! I used to be much quicker and I remember when I started AC I was lighting the tyre temps up, so I guess I was driving much more aggressively in PC1 beforehand. Where does PC2 sit on the spectrum between the two??? To feel at home, which should I be playing until release day?!

Can't help you sorry, I rarely play AC nowadays...in PC2 it very much depends on the car, some respond better to aggressive driving and others are better when smooth. To be honest I find that in PC1 too so I'm not really sure I can help you...the FFB will be much better out of the box though.Fired up AC to compare...FFB is lovely but there's just no grip, it's ridiculous...in PC2 you can feel the weight transfer and the tyre grip levels through the corner, I don't get that in AC. I'll go back in and give something else a go but I remembered it being much better than this, I'm a bit disappointed if I'm honest.
This makes me feel a little better haha, I played PC1 for a good few hours last night and have adapted the driving technique to suit, didnt really miss AC as the experience as a whole is inferior to PC (no split times etc). I am expecting good things from PC2, massively looking forward to it! I must say, Sonoma is a track I've not driven before but I had an absolute blast last night in the GT's

There are apps you can download in AC to give you splits and stuff I think, wait that's only on PC are you on PS4?Doodlebug87 said:
Yep PS4 Pro here, so AC is really limiting! At least most of the apps for PC work on PS4 too! Love crew chief... Just need to get up and running on this league for when the sequel is released
If you're serious about joining the league, then I'd at least get a lap time in for Race 1 on Project Cars 1, and then we move to Project Cars 2 for races 2-6, otherwise you'll be missing the points from Race 1 which may annoy you as the season goes on. Just a recommendation mark7389 said:

Oh god haha, what do I need to do and how long have I got to post a laptime not too embarrassing?! If you could kindly count me in and provide some idiot proof instructions I will probably be on tonightDoodlebug87 said:

OK, first the easy bit, head over to http://www.willy-web.com/gt6/ and sign up.The next bit is either easy or a right pain, download the PCLapUpdater from the website onto a windows pc/laptop, there's a guide with screenshots on the website. Turn on your UDP feed and set it to 5 within Project Cars settings. Once that's installed pick your race and all your laptimes and telemetry should be picked up from the UDP feed and sent automatically to the website.

Will get on the case now thanks!The next bit is either easy or a right pain, download the PCLapUpdater from the website onto a windows pc/laptop, there's a guide with screenshots on the website. 'Fraid so, not very professional around here. It's just my web domain that started out to put some pictures of my son online (he's called William) and I've just tagged this stuff on it. Also gt6 because I originally thought we were playing Gran Turismo before we swerved to Project Cars. Must get round to sorting that stuff out at some point......mark7389 said:

Perfectly reasonable explanation! Hurdle number one, my work laptop will possibly go mental if the antivirus warnings on your instructions prove correct and our other laptop is a Chromebook! Is there any workaround or the possibility of being manually added for race 1 if I verify my split times? Don't want to miss out on the first round!Doodlebug87 said:

You can add times manually via the website under the Dashboard menu, some of the cool stuff won't be available though, eg, best sector times, telemetry etcmark7389 said:
