Fat chance, not entered my time yet or set the widget up but I am literally 10 secs off the pace. Now, I was rarely top of the table, but I wasn't expecting to be 10 seconds behind
Just to check, are we using default set ups? Please say no, so I can use it as an excuse for being so crap.
Afraid to say car should be default, driving aids real. Intention is that everyone should be driving under the same conditionsJust to check, are we using default set ups? Please say no, so I can use it as an excuse for being so crap.

Allo allo, listen carefully, I will say this only once...
Get a PC, get an Oculus Rift, retire from public life and live in virtual reality...mind blown after only 5 laps of Bathurst.
Simply stunning, every doubt I had after using the Vive at OCUK is gone, the Rift is much clearer, I can read all of the HUD without any issues, maybe the Vive wasn't sitting on my face correctly. It's not HD but it's not as far off as I thought it was.
I will be unavailable for comment this evening as I will be reviewing all of the content I downloaded last night.

Have fun!
Apologies to born2bslow for taking top spot but I only did that because of the handicap. Pleased with my performance on this one though as set myself a target of being within 4 secs before the quickest laps were then set, so to get within three seconds was better than I expected; just hard to put a lap together without a mistake somewhere.
I sat and did a 46 lap stint last night and there were way more unsuccessful laps than successful ones - most annoying was the fact I was up on the penultimate lap through S1 and S2 and then got a bit excited and overcooked it into the final corner so could have got closer to the pace...

Storming session by Matt S (Northern Monkey) to nick first place with half an hour to go.
So we're into the final session with xjay1337 defending his lead although Drewk1, evans and born2bslow all made up ground on him in the last race.
Last race is Imola in a BAC Mono, testing car for the cr@p amongst us but hopefully will give a worthy championship winner :-)

Nooooooooooooooo
Ah well, nevermind. I had a crack last night in the rift but I was a bit off and hitting everything getting used to the new perspective, bloody terrifying coming down the mountain now...can't recommend it enough. New pants please.
Well done Northern Monkey, but now your handicap improves and you need to go faster next time lol it never ends...
BAC Mono, will be great with the rift with no roof, looking forwards, backwards, left, and right to it.

To be honest, if there was a circuit where I thought I'd be hopeless it would have been Bathurst but guess I did so many laps last night, there was bound to be one decent one amongst them! I've not really paid too much attention to the handicap and just focused on trying to get as close as I can overall - least I'm getting closer to the pace.
(Saying that, I just tried the BAC - I'm gonna be nowhere...)

Apart from better resolution it's as close as you can get to driving without a g force simulator IMHO. It's really very impressive.Get a PC, get an Oculus Rift, retire from public life and live in virtual reality...mind blown after only 5 laps of Bathurst.

The rift allegedly has a slightly bigger focus sweet spot but it's still quite persnickety about siting it on your face. A few mill either way makes a big difference.
I'll maybe get a chance to set a time in the new challenge over the weekend. Got a house full of mates for a lads weekend. If any of them are any good at driving I might try and use them as a ringer
Edit - meant to ask - how do you find the motion sickness? I'm generally fine, the really bumpy carts can give me a twinge and crashing still confused some part of my hind brain but I've not been naeseous.
A mate tried it and had to go outside after 10 minutes, he was properly queasy!

The main thing is take it easy first off,if you start to feel sick stop straight away or you might be very sick for a couple of hours. The rift allegedly has a slightly bigger focus sweet spot but it's still quite persnickety about siting it on your face. Build up your time in the rift bit by bit.
I know that when I went away for a month then went back on it, it was like starting from new again but didn't take me as long to get back into it.
Playing in short burst, but I think playing games slightly out of focus is giving me eye strain...and the bit of my face inside the rift feels like it's been steam cleaned...it needs aircon.
The only time I felt anything like queasy was playing Lucky's Tale with the sideways movement, found that very strange...no sickness at all.
