Project Cars Stoopid Challenges

That's how he amuses himself on a miserable wet bank holiday weekend...
Mr Rocket Pants strikes again...41.273, I think a 40.999 is possible but I'm struggling to run consistently because of how much this car slides. It's fun drifting through the corners up the hill though.
Come on and catch me guys...

Have to say credit to you quick guys - no idea how I'd find the 1.5s i'm behind at the moment
If you can find a ghost that's about 1 second quicker than you so they don't drive off into the distance that sometimes helps. Also lots of time getting the hairpin right. I brake hard aimed at the apex and as I get to it drop to 1st which locks the diff like a handbrake and rotates the car...helps keep you tight on exit ready for the left hander, but it takes practice not to spin out.
Lift as you crest the top of the steep bit so you don't get Air as well, the last sector is tricky after that but I drop to 3rd without braking and make sure I'm well to the right on first apex, then just fling it through the twisty bits like riding a mechanical bull. Last but one corner at the top, you need to brake just before the little left kink again aimed at the apex which you can't see, drop into second and let it drift onto the runoff then you straighten up before getting on the power, last corner brake early and power through in 3rd, going in deep will cost you all the way down to the line.
Hope that helps!

Quite a difference to my lap. Also lots of time getting the hairpin right. I brake hard aimed at the apex and as I get to it drop to 1st which locks the diff like a handbrake and rotates the car...helps keep you tight on exit ready for the left hander, but it takes practice not to spin out.

First hairpin I stay in 3rd and take a more looped line. Marks' excellent driving line in the analysis shows this very well compared to B2BS. Over the Mountain I change gear whilst cresting the summit into 4th. Prevents wheelspin on landing. I go through the twisty bits in 4th and change to 3rd for the tight right. For the final turn I change into 4th when braking again to prevent wheelspin. Only 0.038 behind B2BS. Will keep trying.

Changing to 4th at the crest, gadnamit that'll be why when i was chasing your ghost any gains i made at the start got annihilated going over the crest...First hairpin I stay in 3rd and take a more looped line. Looking at gears and revs is helpful too, clearly lots of different driving styles producing similar times, fascinating stuff from data god...
