I'm doing a lot of "proper" racing with these guys at the moment: https://www.facebook.com/groups/EXILEDVIRTUALMOTOR... and https://www.facebook.com/groups/1360320844007983/
Really well run and racing F3, GT3, WTCC and more.
Very different to hotlapping and some very very fast guys there.
I registered there but haven't got around to entering any races...as I said my problem is committing to a weekly timeslot. I used to race on sunday evenings back in my LFS days but even that was difficult to maintain because life got in the way. They don't run any Project Cars leagues either...Really well run and racing F3, GT3, WTCC and more.

Sorry Tronneh, I snatched victory in the real time challenge by a narrower margin than last week 0.087s ...it sure is tight at the top. I managed to get 2nd in the Handicap challenge, Mark taking the win in his absence. Overall championship placings me, Rob/Rex and Tronneh take the same podium positions in both races so far and the league. The handicap table is a bit more lively, with the absent Mark heading the league, Simon P and Dpb1975 filling out the top3.
With Mark still away drowning teenagers and playing with knots we move on to Le Circuit Bugatti (Le mans short course) in the Marek LMP2, it's a deceptively tricky track with a good mix of fast and slow corners, but if i remember rightly the car is quite a nice drive. Haven't tried this one out yet, lets get lapping and see if we can cause Mark's PC to melt down.
Come and catch me if you can! Have a good week!

Oh my, Oculus Summer of Rift, Headset with 2 sensors and touch controllers for £399...
That's cheaper than a good 144Hz gaming monitor and less than I ended up paying second hand once I'd bought the touch controllers...anybody jumping in at that price? I honestly can't recommend it enough, it's utterly brilliant.

You can get a PC vr ready for around £850, the problem at the moment is the graphics cards are hard to come by as people are buying them up for data mining/bit coins....there aren't even any second hand bargains to be had. There are some second hand 980Ti on ebay for about £330, but you'd spend at least as much again for the other components you'd need to complete a PC build. The bulk of my PC is about 5 years old and would be considered mid range at best now, but I did upgrade the graphics card to a 980Ti.
The headset is very GPU dependent.

I've just joined on the website, I'm bound to be horribly slow, but someone has to be. Are the times set in time trial mode?
Cheers. (Xbox one)
Yes TT mode, real aids no tyre wear or damage...Cheers. (Xbox one)
There are graphs to help you see where you are losing time...it's all good stuff...

I'm becoming inevitably drawn into playing Pcars2 more and more...it's just so good to be able to lean on the tyres and still slide...I don't care how slow I am, I'm having great fun hooning about.
I'm blaming you for the fact I've just ordered the Collectors Edition...born2bslow said:
Hey it's not my fault you have no willpower...you need to get an Oculus Rift now
Given the response from the Mrs was 'don't expect a fking birthday present then if you've paid that much for a game', I'm not gonna push my luck...Edited by Northern_Monkey on Tuesday 11th July 20:07
