Still on the Mariokart theme, is it worth buying if already owned on the Wii U?

After reading some of the above comments, it seems worth it?
Its the same game including all the bonus (paid for?) content. So, if you actively play on the Wii U, maybe not. If the Wii U is mothballed or you want the Switch's ability to play anywhere, then definitely worth it.

Went out to buy a loaf of bread in Sainsbury's this morning and came home with a Switch hehe

Got Zelda with it. Just got it unboxed and updated so far. Not sure about comfort with the joycons on the sides of the unit but seems ok with using them separately or in the controller adaptor. Is the pro controller worth it?

I'll get Mario Kart at some point - just didn't today having already spent £330 more than planned!

Been playing Wonderboy, fantastic little game and very old school. Love you you can alternate between the 8 bit graphics and the modern ones.

Just wondering how Switch owners are getting on with their consoles?

I've read doom and gloom posts about issues with controllers, connections and screens getting scratched in the dock.

Whilst i realise you only really see negative stuff, im loathed to fork out the money at the moment, especially as it will be a family console and used by a 6 year old.

I'm hoping when the next wave of consoles hit he shelves that these issues might be ironed out, but interested to hear comments from here.

Had mine from launch, no problems to report so far and I've used it most days. I've mainly been using in handheld mode and putting in the dock overnight to charge, no scratches on the screen but I'm careful with it. I can see how you'd scratch the screen if you wasn't careful, so I'd imagine if you let a 6 year old place/remove from dock, it'll scratch.

We are loving ours. No issues at all and it gets plenty of use through my eight year old and is mates when they come over. Very tough piece of kit in my opinion. I'm pretty sure I've seen some destruction tests done online and it bode very well indeed!

We have four games with ours - Breath of the Wild (fantastic/must have), Just Dance 2017 (great fun/worth the money/very good with the joy cons), Street Fighter 2 Ultra (really good fun/blast from the past!) and Snipper Clips (rubbish IMO).

I would say if you are looking for a bit of fun tech fun with your little one, they are definitely worth the money. Forget the PS4 of Xbone with little kids.

We have a Wii U as well. Had it for years and that still gets played a lot too. Definately had our monies worth out of that!

We have a Pixel C Tablet and my daughter enjoys playing Sonic on it (and other easily forgettable games), so i thought i'd investigate the Switch as an alternative. The bonus being that we can hook up to the TV and all play.

My other thoughts were to pick up a Wii but that limits us to playing infront of the TV and im thinking the Switch would keep her occupied during car journeys.

I was thinking of Mario Kart and Splatoon to begin with, though im struggling to get my head around the latter. You cant go wrong with a Mario game (can you?).

Both Mario Kart and Splatoon are great. I will probably get Spaltoon 2 for him for Christmas as he had the first one, along with Mario Kart 8 on his Wii U. There is also a new Mario game being released before Christmas which he is excited for.

In all, kids love Nintendo in general.

And yes, they are fantastic for car journeys. We took ours when we went on holiday in April. He was as quiet as a mouse on the plane! I also like the fact you can play 2/3/4 players on them. Far more interactive than just letting them entertain themselves alone on a tablet.

Just placed orders for the following -
Switch Splatoon 2 bundle
Mario Kart 8
Case
Screen protector
Sock to protect unit from docking station scratches.

I ordered the Switch from Nintendo store as it has 2yr warranty, think everywhere else only gives 1yr. Should all arrive tomorrow.

You have an essential item missing from that order, Zelda!

I'm not sure whether Zelda would get much interest in our family. Mario Kart definately will and im hopeful that Splatoon will to.

My son finds the controls a little clumsy in splatoon 2.

So much in fact it rarely gets played. Fifa is probably the most popular.

I hardly ever use mine anymore. I think i want them to release the old stuff for it. Being able to play the early mario games on it would be great.

I have Donkey Kong, The Naruto Trilogy and Pay Day on my play list. I will be travelling a fair bit over the next 2 months so hoping to get through them. Wanted to get South Park: FBW but have already bought it on the PS4

My fav game by far has to be Zelda on the Switch.

Since buying Rocket League when it was released on Switch, I've placed very little else. So so so addictive and well worth the money. I did purchase Bayonetta 2 as well, which is really good but I find myself struggling to play anything else over Rocket League.

I've got Zelda and Mario Kart. Zelda is so good I've scarcely played Mario Kart. I'm absolutely blown away by how good Zelda is!
