Nintendo Switch

Chap who works for me is laid up with a slipped disc, he wants to play Zelda. My lad has Zelda and is going away for the week and won't be taking his Switch. Seems an obvious solution.
My son is concerned he will lose his game saves. I'm 99% sure that isn't the case. Different console, different users, game save not on cartridge (I don't think). My son doesn't have 'Switch Online' if that makes a difference.
Anyone know for sure?

Can confirm it saves to the console not the game.............And your son can back up his game save if he's REALLY worried to the micro SD card.My son is concerned he will lose his game saves. Switch VR is coming with a Labo cardboard kit, £35 for the starter kit (headset and gun), £70 for all the bits.

I'm contemplating a switch and wondering if anyone can advise.
my last nintendo console was an N64, however i did regularly play a gamecube with friends and my brother. i've played Wii at friends houses. since N64 ive always had a sony console.
while i want to dable back into nintendo i also want to get it to have my brother (he's afew years older than me, i'm 32) to play. we always shared consoles. the switch seems to come with 1 controller, however i want enough for 3players (only for the duration of stay my bro+partner is around).
naturally top of my list are the following games are
- super smash
- mario odessy
- latest legend of zelda game
- mario kart

my question is...
anyone know of a good budle out there with the above games? are there other games not considered?
i can always look into it but i figure i might get a better answer or step in the right direction here. nowadays most games i tend to buy tend to be sequels of games, however i'm trying to break out of the rut.ambuletz said:

Nintendo gear is hardly ever cheap and not many deals that I can see, even used games are expensive. The switch actually comes with two controllers - they detach from each side of the screen and can be used independently and are fine for Mario Kart etc. Obviously you need more for 3+ players. Can’t fault that games selection and the console price is worth it for Zelda alone. Bomberman R is good for a laugh with a few people.background

It's dead as a platform isn't it? I haven't 'switched' mine on for months, the games are incredibly overpriced.
Oh yeah, totally dead...Besides the fact it's outsold the PS4 in Japan already despite the PS4 arriving over 3 years earlier.

Games are higher priced but as has already been mentioned, Nintendo games always hold their value incredibly well. There's also a huge amount of indie games on the store and after the PC it's probably the next best bet for playing those titles, in fact lots of Devs are targeting just the Switch and PC because of how popular it is as an indie platform.
Loads of life in the Switch yet, OP you might want to hold out for a bit as they're launching both a higher spec one and a lower spec model (that you can't play docked to your TV) later in the year. I'm sure when that comes about there will be some deals to shift stock of the older model.

Wow, I'm genuinely amazed! I don't know a single person that has one, how do the UK figures stack up though?Besides the fact it's outsold the PS4 in Japan already despite the PS4 arriving over 3 years earlier.

Edit - Google says not so well over here, 20% of 2018 console sales were Switches.
I'm a big Nintendo fan, I'm not knocking them, just wish they'd drop the hardware battle and concentrate on software for other platforms.
Oh and £50-£60 for a Switch game is bordering on daylight robbery.

£50 for Zelda - BOTW is a bargain.Edit - Google says not so well over here, 20% of 2018 console sales were Switches.

I bought a second hand copy of Zelda "for my kids" for £30 from ebay. It came without box, so I suspect now it's a copy (apologies Nintendo!).However I'm inclined to agree on some of the other ste they have released.
I've not played video games for 20 years, so I have little to compare it with beyond my old PC or even Sega Megadrive but by god this is incredible. I can't believe the Switch can run graphics, and handle gameplay in such a small unit.
Zelda is a massive, immersive game. and even though I think I'm a fair way through, there is still loads to discover and complete, and it becomes more sophisicated and involved as you go along too. It's sucked me in completely, and as you say, well worth the £50, let alone the £30 I paid for it.
Much to my wife and son's annoyance though, it's a very easy way to make hours just disappear.
The great thing I've found with the switch is that it works as well on the big screen as it does on the handheld, which is great if I want to have a bit of a play when Mrs P is watching 3 episodes of Outlander back to back, plus you can take it places where the kids can play Mariokart and Just Dance with with their mates.
It's been a great investment, even though its mainly me who has benefitted!

Picked up mariokart for it, and my brother’s getting him fifa I think.
