Quick Question....
We got the 3 months free online thing with our new switch.
Was hoping that you got the DLC for Mario Kart with that but it seems you need to upgrade to the 'extension pack' online deal thingy to get that.
What else do you get access to with that?
A selection of Megadrive, Gameboy Advance and N64 games. Plus a couple of other game expansions. We got the 3 months free online thing with our new switch.

Might be better just to buy the expansions out right then for u as he won't have any interest in the other bits at the moment....
Although I might fancy a bit of goldeneye

Ta, and assume once the subscription expires you lose access to the game expansions?

Yep, only accessible whilst subscribed. I just bought a code from Amazon (£35 a year I think).Might be better just to buy the expansions out right then for u as he won't have any interest in the other bits at the moment....

As I mentioned above, Goldeneye is all but unplayable using the Switch controls. I suspect you'd need an N64 style controller for your Switch.
A couple of recent ones I highly recommend, most come up on offer fairly frequently...
Dave the Diver - quite possibly the most addictive game I've played in years. You can press ahead with the story, or just manage your dives/restaurant and chill. I'm about 30 hours in and only a third of the way through it. Perfect handheld game.
Circuit Superstars - mentioned this a while back but it's a surprisingly deep little arcade/sim racing game with a great range of one make championships and superb driving mechanics. Genuinely tough on higher difficulties with real thought needed on fuel and tyre strategy.
Suika Game - usually a pound or two, shockingly addictive puzzler that's great for a 5 minute blast.

Our switch isn't allowing two player mode when I last tried to play Mario Kart with my son. Any idea what it it could be? The second handheld controller just comes up as player 1 (same as the other one), but when we identify the controllers it says that it is controller 2 on the screen.
Pressing the buttons does nothing.
A friend said maybe we need to get new controllers, that the case? We've only had the switch for less than a year.

The joycons are notoriously unreliable - I beleive Nintendo still repair/replace them for free.

Had one of ours fixed for drift last month - took less than three weeks all in and back good as new - no charge and our switch is a few years old. https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Contact/Repairs...

I am considering buying a switch but don't know whether to go for the lite or neon. I am not that into gaming; I want something for when I am on a long journey. I want the neon because of its connection to the TV. The last console I bought was the Wii, which is now in the attic.
I'd go for the non-lite (neon is just the colour of the controllers). Go for the OLED model.CooperS said:
If your doing it - get the OLED model
Bought an OLED Switch a couple of weeks ago, in white, it's a fantastic bit of kit. I'm the ripe old age of 49, have had Play Stations, every X-Box up to the X-Box One (still have a One but just use it as a Blu-ray player now) never been a serious gamer just dipped in and out over the years, with long periods of never using them, I just fancied something portable but I like the option of connecting it to the TV if I want to.
Screen is brilliant build quality is fantastic, I can connect my Bluetooth headphones if I want to, I like that I can dip in and out to a game easily, the games are a bit simpler but I did find games on the X-Box just a bit of a chore sometimes, not something that I can easily just fire up for 30 minutes for a quick go.
So far I'm very happy and impressed.
