Had an e-mail yesterday congratulating me for getting the platinum trophy, with a code for an exclusive theme. I though that was US only? I'm not complaining, just thought it a little odd.
Nothing for me Not that I have any interest in themes, my PS4 is still rocking the default blue background but, free is free so, I am totally justified in feeling aggrieved
To be honest, the theme isn't anything special anyway, I actually preferred the previous Horizon Theme I had installed. Odd that you've had no e-mail, Speckle, I got it within a few days of getting my platinum, which would have been at the very start of June so a good couple of weeks behind you.

It is strange but thankfully, all sorted now I'm sure that compared to the PS4 default, I'll consider it to be an upgrade

Did you hear that, Speck?
That's the first time anything you've ever contributed has been described as "awesome!"
:P
To be fair, I read it as describing the game/graphics/dinomechanical beasts themselves as being 'awesome' rather than my 'l33t dino slaying skilzz' specifically. That's the first time anything you've ever contributed has been described as "awesome!"

It would therefore appear that I have yet to break my duck on the 'awesomeness' front
Unless we're counting what yer Missus said last night, that is!

That's it, 1st opportunity in the D2 Raid, you're getting punched off a cliff. It would therefore appear that I have yet to break my duck on the 'awesomeness' front

And yes, that's how I read it as well, but I saw an opportunity to take the piss and took it!

Frankly, I wouldn't want it any other way SimianWonder said:

Well, hang on now.....I mean, I was kind of brilliant if you think about it.... Ruskie said:
4 hours in and I bloody love it!!
Just picked up playing this again after having a sizeable layoff mucking about in Destiny and I have to say, totally hooked on it once again. Now progressing through the main story having done all of the side missions I had on the go
First Thunderjaw went down yesteday, amazing, such a great sense of scale. Damn thing seemed to jump over my blast wires, but some tearblast arrows and judicious use of the machine's own disc launchers soon finished him off. Just need a Stormbird kill now for something or other
What a game, superb!

Sometimes they just run over tripwires as they have such a lengthy stride. I often found they'd set them off later in the fight instead as we moved around. If you have one, I found a purple ropecaster effective against stormbirds (anything less powerful is quite hard work as you need more shots to fill the circle and they can sometimes rip 'em out as quick as you put 'em in)
Finally completed this yesterday having been playing it on and off for the last few weeks, mainly to make it last longer.
All-in-all, it was a terrific game and i can't wait for the DLC. There were a few minor annoyances in there, like the weapons being, for all intents and purposes, one of each type with the modifications being the differentiator. I also found it annoying that the weapons tutorials had to be active to achieve them.
The final level was easier than i'd expected, but given that i was level 49 and using the shield weave armour, safe to say it was more me being OP than an easy fight.
Much as i enjoy playing the game, i can see me going for 100% completion. I'd completed every side quest, errand and so on that i could prior to finishing the story and ended up with around 85% completion. If all i had to do for 100% completion was collect the rest of the metal flowers, ancient vessels and banuk items i probably would, but i'm guessing that you at least have to collect all the data points as well? If so: pass.
All of which leaves me gameless and wondering what to play. Since completing Zero Dawn I've had a go at the other games I've been playing recently and found that:

- Titanfall 2 - Loved it and played it a lot, but i think i've just got a bit bored of it and not that motivated to play it.
- Modern Warfare Remastered - I know i'll play it for half an hour tops before it makes me want to throw my TV, PS4 or quite possibly myself out the window (clutching the aforementioned items).
- Rocket League - Still like it, but again it only really holds my attention for short bursts.

Don't worry, you don't need to collect the data points, they don't count towards your completion. Have you got every type of shadow armour and shadow weapon? If not, that'll give you a huge boost and see you well on your way to platinum.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
