I just assumed it was just another hyped up 'hack and slash' bore fest.
It's definitely not that! Strategy plays a huge part in getting through the various situations you find yourself in. E.g. doing a "Leroy Jenkins" when tackling a bandit camp will see you getting your arse handed to you. I'm loving it, working out what works best with each enemy, learning as I go. It's a brilliant game.TheGroover said:

Yes, I know that now, I was amazed at the game and the storyline in particular when watching the gameplay vids on YouTube, and have been enjoying playing it today.I have bought, or more accurately, wasted so much money on so many games I thought would be good, only to be bitterly disappointed, but this one is different, definitely a cut above.
ETA - I meant to ask, can you have this game in HDR mode if it's the standard PS4 and not Pro? I ask because I have an LG OLED HDR TV, and when in HDR mode, the screen is pink! Would it be the HDMI cable?

If the cable isn't capable of running an HDR 4K signal, then it won't work properly but the biggest problem is that base PS4s HDR is basically useless without 4K anyway.
The TV isn't the problem, it is very much 4K. I just wondered if the standard PS4 was capable of HDR, and if it is, perhaps the cable's to blame.I am pretty sure that I only have a single mission left to play in order to complete the story. I've just finished the mission with the stormbird, which was one hell of a fight! Took me almost 10 minutes and pretty much all my medicine/health potions! Try as I might, I found hitting the weak spots on the wings as they were flapping about nigh on impossible! Great fun though and ultimately managed to defeat the beast without dying
The plan now is to save the final mission for later and to just run around and finish all the side missions/corrupted zones etc. that I missed along the way. I would like the last mission to be the final thing I do to get platinum and, looking at everything that is left on the map, that might take me a while. I have now finally got the shadow weave armour though, which so far is making things far easier than they should be...

There's a mission (can't remember the name of it now) where you have to find 2x power adapters to open a door and get a suit of armour - i found them both, opened the door and now it tells me I've got to find another 2 or 3 of them before I can open yet another door to get the armour, but no idea where they are - am I missing something here? I can't search the entire map for them as it would take forever....sorry for the vagueness of this, I can never remember what anything is actually called in this game!

That is the Shadow Weave armour. There are 5 power cells in total but, you don't get the final one until the penultimate mission. A quick google will tell you where all the power cells are located, which is worth doing as a couple would be easy to miss. Took me until now (probably about 35 - 40 hours into the game to collect them all.I was trying to get that armour before taking on the Redmaw, but completed that mission the other day without it and was very surprised to kill it without taking any damage whatsoever! Just stood on some rocks where it couldn't quite reach me and then pelted it with everything I'd got - I was expecting to have to retry that mission hundreds of times

Hmmm, I haven't done that mission yet. Seems I've missed more than I thought but, it only occurred to me this morning to d start doing the Hunter trials so didn't even know there was a Hunters Lodge until today. Isn't a redmaw basically just a corrupted thunderjaw? I think I've killed one of those already in one of the missions.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
