Hi just wondering what would be the best to buy a tv or a monitor? I'm only going to use it with a Xbox and will be looking for around 40" 4K what are people's opinions on this?

Had the same situation and I've gone for a TV - Samsung 43 KS7500 - and it's awesome!

Honestly it depends on how much of a purist you are.

For an Xbox I would be fine as that is what the are designed to run on. For pc you could really get into the nitty gritty of latencey and the such like. I took my pc to my mates house and played on a 32 inch tv and even with my less than HD, 42 year old eye it was awesome.

A tv is pretty much a monitor nowadays.

In terms of response times you could look at the grey to grey reaction in milliseconds for both the tv and the monitor and depending on what sort of games you play, you can choose as fast as you need.

I play on a modern 40" Panasonic LCD tv for all manner of games for my Ps2, Ps3 and Ps4 and Wii u. No issues at all.

For the price of a TV you can get an HD LED projector, a 74"+ screen and a sound bar smile

Now that's big screen gaming lol

Yes it's curved and HDR. Truth be told I wasn't initially keen/fussed by a curved screen but this one is really good, and viewing from an angle is not an issue. Had it just over a week now and really like it (first new tv in 5+ years); got it with the Samsung soundbar and sub. Got HDR switched on for Hitman and Deus Ex and it really does look exceptional compared to my old basic 1080p set.

So I might notice a bit difference as the one I use is about 12 years old and can't remember the number but 4something rings a bell.
I'll go for that one think, I'll keep a look out for some deals, I'm not in a big rush hopefully the price drops a bit in the summer
