What will you be playing on? There will be a bunch of us on PS4 who will play together regularly. In fact, many of them are still wringing the neck out of Destiny 1 (the sad barstewards!) Will definitely be picking it up this time round

Hey, I resemble that comment! 
I keep finding new stuff to do if I'm honest, but then I didn't cane it to death as the new content came out, so am somewhat behind a lot of the regulars (only got my first exotic sword last week for example, when they have been around for at least 12 months!)
Never really touched Crucible / PvP for 3 years but the more I play it now, the more fun I'm finding. Gonna give the latest Iron Banner a run as this is the first time ever Mayhem Clash has been offered as Banner
If you are undecided on Destiny 2, why not pick up the Collector's Edition of D1 relatively cheaply now and give it a go. As Speckle mentions, there will be a lot of folks on PS4 if that's you platform of choice, playing D2 when it comes out. Reminds me, I must pre-order to get in on the upcoming beta
And that'll be the difference. It took me a while to hook up with the guys in the early weeks of D1, whereas for D2, that network will be there from day 1. And playing the game with those guys remains the best aspect of Destiny to this day

I watched the gameplay reveal last night and I have to say, it's got me quite excited. Brand new supers, massive new locations and by the sounds of it, lots more to do. Some interesting ideas around matchmaking too. The graphics looked gorgeous.
I'm very much looking forward to the beta now - hopefully they'll give us some dates at E3 in a couple of weeks.

3 player campaign, 4v4 in all crucible modes and 6 player raids
