There's some truth to that map - I don't think I've ever been to the far north-east and north-west parts of the map, and the entire western section labeled as "No Point" I've hardly ever been to. The circle mainly seems to end up in the centre axis somewhere, and not often outside of that in my 67hrs of play. I know one of the patches recently made some changes to this, but haven't played much of this new patch to see it.
Just played my best game so far. I went for a squad game on the NA servers. Unfortunately it was one of those games where your squad is one making up the numbers or has disconnects, so our squad was just two. Me and this American guy landed in a firefight and he unfortunately was killed in the first minute. I avenged his death, found a jeep and got the hell out of Dodge.
I still had little loot, a shotgun and a ump both with about twenty rounds. Stopping at house to do some more looting I was ambushed by a squad of four. No idea how I managed it but I knocked two of them out and used the smoke that they had laid down to speed out of there in my jeep. Finally found a Scar and headed to the centre of the circle. I never found anything better than a holographic scope but managed to pick off various people.
The circle kept falling nicely for me and I ended up in a one v one against the other surviving man. I had place advantage on him and once the circle moved I heard footsteps. He literally stopped the other side of tree from me. A few shorts bursts from my UMP and it was winner, winner chicken dinner!

Had a cracker of a game this evening.
Playing with a friend that just got the game today in duos and the circle enclosed in the area SE of Zharki (new patch improved the randomisation of zones), somewhere I think I've been once before in 100s of games.
Friend DCs with 23 alive.
Manage to take position smack bang in the middle of the next circle in some lovely natural cover. Not 1, but 3 squads decide to push my position and in the space of a minute I end up with full level 3 gear, my AK suppressed and a Kar98 with an 8x.
Crouch sprint my way to the next circle and go prone in some long grass. As I'm watching to the north where I heard gunfire, a squad runs past me not 2 meters away. Stay prone and take them down with the AK.
Final circle is on an elevated road. Me on one side and a duo on the other. See one and take him down and finish the kill with the suppressed AK and go prone again. Snake my way to the other side of the circle so the final guy doesn't know position. Circle starts to shrink and I spot him snaking in the grass close to the other side of the road. Stand up to peak him and put a K98 shot in his dome.
Most adrenaline filled round in a few weeks!

By the way what has been people's preferred early game? In squads we'll tend to go to a contested area to make sure we all have enough loot but in duos I've taken to looting clusters of houses in the sticks, sometimes even popping the shoot super early. I feel like you need less ammo/meds to fight your way to the end in duos.

I just bit the bullet and bought this. I play Arma a lot so hoping the transition won't be too bad. Had to mess with the settings quite a bit to get it where I'm comfortable now and so it runs at its best.
I've enjoyed the 4 rounds I've played so far, hoping stability is improved in the next patch so I can up the graphics to ultra and not have a mixture of low and medium
