My concern is frame rate and what setting graphics wise I would need to be on.
Earlier on in the game, the lower graphics settings actually proved better than medium or high due to various environmental things that are/are not renderedThings like bushes and long grass which would be there on high and medium settings, wouldn't be there on the low settings. Meaning you could see people just sitting in the middle of a field thinking they were in a bush hidden but not.
I run everything on very low bar textures and AA on medium. FPS and responsiveness being more important to me than graphics.. I need all the help i can get..
View distance doesn't really matter, player models render up to 1k distant. When you zoom in with a big scope the game then renders the trees etc.
Grass iirc only renders out to 75/100m from your viewpoint for all players regardless of settings.

that's good to hear, what frame rates do you get?
Hadn't actually checked before. Logged in for a quick game this evening and it was averaging about 50fps. Might look at dropping the settings a bit to up this.Laptop specs:
Intel i7-5700HQ Processor
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 3GB GDDR5
ETA: To correct my earlier post, graphics settings are all on high, not ultra...

I think your card might be slightly better, thanks for checking..... Might just wait until it is fully released and go from there..... Don't want to waste my money and it doesn't run properly. Laptop specs:

Got your invite. Will send you my discord name and server link. If you don't use discord at the moment, please consider it. 8 bods from here on it at the moment and a few non ph guys as well
We could do with a list of steam id's in the ph game wiki. Don't know how it's done though
Cheers

Looking to get on with the PH crew, Got a couple friends that play but not always on at the same time.
Dont like playing solo as its a bit too campy.
Need to get some practice in. My movement and awareness seem ok but my shooting/aiming definitely needs work. Seem to panic and spray and pray everywhere but the enemy.
Steam: Pridderz

Seen a few videos; graphics are a lot more cartoony and there is a base/fort building mechanic added in. Doesn't appeal to me tbh; I love the simple concept of PUBG where the only variable is the skill of the other players, rather than their ability to build some impenetrable fort to hide in.

From what I've played of it, the forts are far from impenetrable! Your character carries a pick axe tool that easily destroys made sections. Also explosives like grenades mash them up too.Just feels like you can build a place to hide, rather than having to cower in an existing bathroom.
