I used to absolutely hate Suzuka and Brands Hatch, but really enjoy both now I’ve learnt them properly

The first corner is amazing once you get it spot on, so rewarding. The esses are great too and if you manage to make Dunlop flat out then you know you've done well!

Turn 1/2 at Suzuka is MEGA. You can break at the turn in cone in the RSR.

In fact the whole track is mega. Doesn’t have a bad sector. Best track in the game.

I wish the shortcut boundaries were more clearly defined on Suzuka and Nurburgring GP. I normally work with at least two wheels on the limit but the chicanes at the end of both laps appear to be a very specific line that some people precisely nail and I cannot.

It’s Degner 1 that gets me. But did manage to run 13 races Saturday without a penalty

The secondn part of Spoon kills me. Just can't seem to hit the second apex and end up running wide. Thus killing my speed up the straight.

I lose time through T1 due to imprecision, Degna 1 and 2 through being too conservative and the chicane due to not knowing exactly where the boundaries are. That adds up to about 2 seconds a lap.

Take note of the turn in cone... it’s not the brake cone!

2nd part of Spoon has a very early brake point compared to where you think it should be, it’s a lot slower than you think as well. You have to hit the apex and then wait for the corner to open out.

Urgh!! Just done 8 laps at Maggiore in the TT, half way through the race I actually felt bored!
The drone of the exhaust just made it feel slower than it is, and the understeer was frustrating. Knowing how well the M4 turns in in comparison, and that they were running rings around me in the corners just annoyed me.
Back to the M4 for me!
As s big long term Audi fan I’d love to have one I could use, I can only dream of an RS Avant making an appearance one day laugh

Can’t for the life of me get my lap times with my new wheel anywhere near my times with controller. (G29 here). Frustrating.

Are you changing the TCS?

Cheers, I'll give it a go.

Go on time trial, set an excellent time with your favourite track and car on a controller and save the replay.
Now swap to the wheel and try to match it with all the car settings the same. Once you get close to or beat it then start to lower the TCS.
I’d start with the M4 or a similar, something with good grip and handling rather than a high power Gr3.
It took me a while but after a certain point I was able to beat my controller time with TCS off. Getting the hang of having no TCS instantly gives you more speed.
I think you learn a lot of bad habits with a controller, and they don’t transfer to the wheel at all.
Go back to basics such a brake in a straight line before you turn in etc.

Most of all, remember there is always a dip in performance when swapping to a wheel, but it soon starts to go back up to where you were and then better it. At the moment you’re in the dip

Topsy turvy week. Average pace in dailies for the most part but best ever results in FIA events and taken some scalps. Got to stop making silly little mistakes.
