Terrible car. I ran less than 20 laps in it and that was too many laps. Feels like it’s on CH tyres.

I'm struggling, for sure. Thing is with combos like these is that I just have to grind away trying to understand how it wants to be driven, rather than how you would drive it, if that makes sense. I swear having a driving license and real world experience is a disadvantage in games.

I watched a video of IOF racing (current Brazilian F3 champion) playing at a mates house on a G29 set up, it was ridiculous how fast he was, whatever car on whichever track was totally planted and he got quicker as the tyres wore! Awesome and depressing in equal measure smile

I watched a couple of top 10 replays from Tsubuka and Chris's was the smoothest, the only way I could get within a second was to wheelspin the st out of the car! I couldn't get that smooth exit short shifting to work for me smile On the plus side it made the 911 feel really easy to drive.

He does make me feel very inadequate. I'm on Pad at the mo but when I get the wheel I know I will still never be that smooth.

Thanks for the compliment.

Tricky car to get a time out of - I ran a few laps just to find the brake points, then sort of slightly pushed wide on entry, let it come back on line, then tried to get the steering as straight as possible before getting on the gas. Just had to accept the understeer and not try to get on the gas too early.

I can't believe a real GTR has so much understeer!

I think the difference between aliens and us normal folk is that they can operate on that knife edge between sliding and gaining time and sliding and losing time, if you watch Snows WR Nurburgring GP lap the car just skates/floats round.

A GTR is one of the few cars I would actually consider buying, I won't be doing any track days at Tsubuka though!

I was doing the opposite to you...I was getting in the corner best I could then as soon as I got a glimpse of the exit flooring it and steer the bd best I could! Not fast but made me smile smile

Only tried 2 races on Tsukuba last night, missed qualifying the first time, managed 14th to 2nd place, qualified 6th with a 1:02 on the second race (was heading for a mid 1:01 then lost time on the last hairpin!) spun round and dropped to 18th and last, managed to get back to 2nd and just 5 seconds off the lead.

I've beat him twice this week. Have some of that, Stott!
Beat me a third time last night!

Took me a while to get the Atenza at Nurb... I was stuck in the 2'04's for a while, and wondering how a 2'02 was even possible... eventually found the time, but it took me an hour to hit the lap - had a few significantly faster, only to throw it away with a penalty at the chicane.

2 events I'd expect to do well on today - grp4 Interlagos & grp2 Suzuka - but I'm out for dinner with a client tonight, so won't get chance to run.

Ouch!

I couldn't get an opt in the 2:02s so gave up with my mid 2:03. I don't mind putting the laps in to get the time if I can see a way of getting there but my opt was over a second off where I needed to be.

Yes, I saw that laugh I had to log off as my dinner was ready. Spent too long in the Atenza and only left myself enough time for 12 laps in the FT1.

My opt at Nurb was a 2'02.6, but I was getting frustrated with the bloody chicane, and once I had a time in the top 10 I lost a bit of motivation.

I only get an hour or so playtime on week days, so have to cramp the laps in!

I need to show some dedication! I did 3 laps in the Atenza and 5 at the oval smile Did a few races in the Megane though..just the Megane for me today, I'm thinking if I can't go fast in the slow cars I've got no chance in the fast cars.

Personally, I think grp4 is the best class to learn in... and within the class, the Atenza is the easiest car to drive. Doesn't have the weight of the Veyron that limit stopping/turning, and has so much traction you can completely forget about issues on the exits and just concentrate on your lines.

I can't drive the Megane laugh

There's something about the Atenza that just doesn't feel right, it's nigh on impossible to spin, the car feels really narrow (hood view) and it feels underpowered/overtyred, if I spend any time in it, it ruins my timing and feel for the road cars.

I got the Honda concept car, the one with the RCV engine, looking forward to some one make racing in that!

I think there's a mission at Suzuka that uses that car... it's proper tricky to drive!!

My game is glitched...every time I try to go back and do the missions it gives me a car and plays the end credits! I'll have to try it on one of the kids accounts..

As long as it needs lots of steering input and a heavy foot I'll be fine!
