Don't play online then, it's simple really. I ended up playing on servers, much more fun, no penalties and you have far cleaner races.

The system has been garbage from day one, and only rewards aliens, no-one else, if you can always qualify on pole whatever the opp, then you will likely be OK.

Everyone else gets shuffled round the grid as they always give you a few up front races then drop you back from then on, basically making it impossible (unless you are a freak) to not encounter berks and damage your ratings.

So, don't play online.

And if you are, you are giving Sony 60 quid a year to be ALLOWED to play your game online? Really?

How are you playing on servers if you don't have PSN?

PSN is also for all games and online features not just GT Sport. It's no different to XBox live. If you want to see the pay as you play model, check the iRacing cost structure.

If you can't get high DR and SR then you need to improve, simples. Or blame the Sony/Kaz/PSN/The World for your lack of ability and play something else.

I did it for a month when i first got the game, but is it worth the money?

No, a bunch of crap games every month and the honour of being allowed to play online, get real for goodness sake.

It is done to take advantage of you people, if most of you didn't bother it would become more and more expensive, and then when numbers fell so much, it would be free again.

Blame Microsoft, the harbingers of profit for the world!

If it was worth it I would do it, but for the money it is simply a tax to play online, and if that makes you happy off you go, but you already paid for your games and your console, and you already pay for broadband, why should you pay more?

By that logic, you already pay for your car and the insurance, so why should we have to pay for petrol?

Chunder...stop it, you're making me laugh! I need to get my race face on for the no stop drone around Blue Moon, and the carnage at Catalunya that will be the SF19 race, and finally a chilled out trundle round Brands as I try and save fuel in th Gr4 Jag.

I reckon PSN costs me less than 8p an hour. I'll live with that burden.

I'll whisper in case chunder is listening....bargain.
The Supra race turned out to be good fun, big group of 12 no stoppers fighting it out in A/S lobby and pretty clean. Next race is 5 laps at La Sarthe, I suspect the penalty zones will be the busiest part of the track.

I guess for some the outlay is worth it. If you play lots of games online.

I did not enjoy playing GT Sport online at all and don't play any other games online so the crap games they offer free that you have to give back are not worth it.

I have a PC for proper gaming.

I guess if you feel like paying a yearly tax to a multi billion dollar company off you go, they are not going to complain, just keep putting it up as they have done.

There's spaces available in this series, the Porsche is fun to use, you can make a livery as simple or elaborate as you like, the racing is clean, and you don't need alien speed to be competitive, if you're thinking about getting into online events this is a good starting point.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that later when I get home.

This weeks online races are a washout for me. Race B is just too boring to be done too many times, I don't have the spare cash to acquire a car to complete in Race C and can't be arsed to grind for it. Race A is a good laugh if you don't mind playing bumper cars and losing all your SR.

I've done 6 or so race B's, it's a fun race to do, well it is in the McLaren smile but it's been an SR disaster, I need to spend some time rolling around at the back of race C to recover it. FIA tonight...not bothering with Nations, x25 tyre wear puts me off, I'll probably give Tokyo a try even though I'll have to stop for fuel with the Jag.

Again though, race b if you pick up a penalty in the last sections it’s ruins 2 laps, the one your on which won’t score and the next one where you’ll suffer the penalty early on. At 4 mins a lap that’s gonna waste too much time. Fortunately a restart puts you in a decent place to get good speed across the start line.

This weeks line up looks a lot better. Spent some time last night getting my qualifying times for each race, so tonight I'll see what the Gr3 and Gr4 races are like.

Had a couple of N300 races last night and they were good fun, but again not good for the SR with too many wannabe drift kings on the track running with not enough TC and not enough skill.

I'm B/S again now, mainly thanks to last week at La Sarthe in the dailies and the Supra cup, B and C have been OK this week, but I mainly play in the daytime. This weeks FIA looks a bit dodgy, Nations in the RBJ at BMB is a fuel saving pita, and Manufacturers has x19 tyre wear at Big Willow, like the last corners not understeer inducing enough already smile

After the last few updates Gr.3 is massively tricky on the dualshock now. Combined with the BoP changes which dictate which cars are quick and fine track limits it's made the last two weeks at La Sarthe and Monza infuriatingly inconsistent. I can't get anywhere near my Opt. times. More practice needed, maybe a change in controller configuration again.

I thought a lot of the changes were made to make it easier for DS4 users, although there have been complaints that the high tyre wear in FIA has hurt DS4 users more than wheel users, it doesn't seem to have hurt calster much!

I've noticed traction being more tricky and slides getting even harder to correct in a single tidy action.

The tyre wear is an absolute killer - I think DS4 just causes more scrubbing.

Yeah...it's the same with a wheel, I do think the changes have closed up the field, race A has 450 players separated by 1 second, race B has 110 and race C has 200, I suspect that's what PD had in mind when they changed things, I expect more of the same every update.

Looking at Kudosprime I've dropped off a lot in Gr.3 and really struggling with consistency. Could just do with backing off the diff a touch to give me a little more help out driving out of corners. Bit closer in the slower stuff.
