Did three races at Spa yesterday, the first using the Lambo and the others with the Pug.

The difference in braking ability on those two cars is night and day. The Lambo is awful and ended up clouting the driver in front at the Bus Stop but the peugeot was great on the brakes and even in the slipstream it was possible to brake late.

Glad I gained over 2K DR points too.

The slipstream is catching me out a lot. I'm not that confident on the brakes into there or the chicane at the top of the circuit, when I'm following someone I always miss my marker and end up going too deep.

What's the consensus on the warm-up session, does it do anything car/tyre temp wise?
I just do a few laps qualifying but other than that, no warm up. I don't think it does anything regarding warming up the tyres but I may be wrong. managed to get 2.29.0 in the Pug but still 2-3secs off the pace off the fastest driver.

The slipstream got me when using the Lambo, plus with the bad brakes it has isn't a combination to be enjoyed.

Thanks guys, interesting to know. I don't tend to do any qualifying between the sessions, so go out more as a familiarity but good to know I don't need to actually try warm things up.

Hit DR A yesterday, see how long that lasts! Sure when the rotation changes next week I'll be down again!

That will be...interesting!! N500 looks like some quick cars for such a small circuit.

Never driven the Autopolis course, so quite a bit to learn to tackle that one, at least Spa and Interlagos I knew which way to turn!

So what are your opinions on Leguna Seca? I find it is so much better than on the earlier GT games. For me, my reaction to LS coming to the game was similar to Spa as in I really wasn't that fussed but after playing on both of them I really do enjoy them. I feel the same way about Silverstone so maybe I'll enjoy that if it makes an appearance.

Never been a huge fan of Laguna Seca, find the circuit a bit point and squirt with not much flow, just one fun corner that's probably amazing in real life but loses something on a game and is just a little annoying. The viper for the circuit experience doesn't help, just pushes wide on brakes or throttle if you're a touch keen.
Would have looked forward to Silverstone much more than Laguna Seca. But not gonna complain about more free stuff!! smile

I'm finding the races at LS pretty good, it's no Spa, but judging by the number of people getting lapped (A/S) I'd say its a decent challenge!

What sort of laptimes are people doing in which cars? I'm finding the track very tricky. "Feels" really slippery.

I used the 911, started from the back, race times were low 24's, that's in A/S lobbies, I like to think there's a high 22 there in qually smile

Kie's qualy is 1.21.5 or something like that and was watching Super GT's stream last night as I got in late. Will be playing a couple of races at LS but not sure what car to use. Maybe the 911.

I am selling my (lightly) used Thrustmaster T-GT wheel, complete with T3PA - pro pedals.

I have a 20kg load cell (sim racing solutions) ready to be fitted.

Yellow bumper (BBJ SimRacing 70 Shore (Yellow) Brake Mod for Thrustmaster ) for anyone that prefers not to use the load cell.

Perfect condition used for around 5 hours but now I don't have the space!

Anyone been watching any streams/edited videos about the new penalty system? Jeez, It's laughable. Not played it since Christmas due to how bad it is whether doing the weekly or FIA races. Kie has done a good video on it.

Sorry to deviate this topic, but I though this was probably the best place to ask, Does the PS4 have a "proper" GT game? The PS4 is the first PlayStation I've skipped but previous iterations all had multiple GT's and the prologues too.

With the PS5 looking to be released at the end of the year, and the mid gen refresh of the PS4 with the Pro, I find it incredible that there hasn't been a full GT release yet. Well I couldn't see anything other than Sport from a quick Google.

No mate. No game similar to GT5/6, this is the only GT game for the PS4 unfortunately.

Update came out yesterday. Now reporting that you can drive pretty dirty - patch has removed penalties for minor contact

I was watching Kie's stream and what I saw was that there were no penalties. I can see that being a good thing with the top split drivers but bad news elsewhere.

Not sure I want to play the game at the moment but we'll see.

I've not tried. I think a different account may be needed to test it out.

It looks as if contact penalties have been removed, track cuts still get a penalty, no need to worry about SR now smile everyone will be SR99 by Monday, want to improve your DR? push your way to the front, and enjoy the clean race bonus smile
