Can anyone help me - recently taking part in the Nations Cup races, and for some reason at the end of each race I seem to be handed a 1 minute penalty? At first, I thought that this was because I had bumped somebody, but as I am getting better, I think it has something to do with no adhering to the race requirements (tyres, BOP etc...) Does anyone know why?

Also, is there a PH lobby?

Check the tyre rules, you're not running all the required compounds.

The races sometimes have tyre requirements (shown inthe race details) where you have to specific compounds. For the races on Saturday the requirements in both the Nations and Manufacturers races were that all three compounds available (soft, medium and hard) had to be used. If you failed to use all three you were handed a 60 second penalty.

It used to be a 20 second penalty, but then Laguna Seca happened...

Thanks - I have checked over the rules for each race, but couldnt see that all compounds had to be used! Will have to take a better look next time!

When you get in the lobby check the bottom right of the screen, it shows which tyre compounds are mandatory.

Some of the usual GTA5 guys are on during the week (as a break from GTA) and often have a lobby open, usually named PH (unless Joyrider creates it then its along the lines of Alexs bumhole or similar...) which you are welcome to join

Think it is also worth mentioning if it does require all 3 compounds, most people only run the hard tyre for 1 lap as it is just not worth it. If you have a look on YouTube you will find lots of people offering strategy tips as often you can make up a lot of places with a good strategy. Kie25 and Mistah_MCA are both worth looking at (Sure there are lots of others too smile)

Anyone played the Nostalgic '79 race in league mode?

Some really interesting cars: P330, Shelby Daytona, AMG 6.8 SEL, XJ13

Only issue is most of them are expensive, and they rarely come up on the daily wheel of death

But a more interesting way to earn the credits than grinding Blue Moon Bay

I think certain value cars will now NEVER come up on the daily, I think it is obvious to anyone who has played this game a while that only certain value cars come up there, it is clear an algorithm has been placed there, I dropped some early on, but those days are gone.

I rarely play the game now, it feels dated next to modern stuff sadly. But it has its place.

they like to place those high value cars on the wheel to make you think you were "close" to winning them

In reality as you hinted at, it's pre-determined you are gonna get that 17th version of the Fiat 500

I've had a couple of the very high value cars from the wheel.

Lots of duplicate stuff, too but I've been able to replace almost every car I bought with a free one from the wheel.

I do not play as much as I did, maybe once or twice a week.

But I now have numerous collections of 6, 7 cars, it is determined i think.

I have never dropped a more than 10 mill car in the merry go round and I do not think if your garage is a certain size you ever will.

I used to delete repeats but haven't done for a while and now have as I say very many 6 or 7 repeated of exactly the same car.

it is not at all random sadly, not since they introduced an element of paying.

Can you post a link to something which reflects this non-random element please?

I've had hundreds of different cars off the wheel, including the Ferrari P4 and many many millions worth of others. I've accessed the game and done the mileage on over 850 days.

I have no data, merely playing the game fr years since release, (not every day) and never, ever getting a top price car on the wheel, every car over 10 mill I have bought with in game currency.

Been excellent the past week on the Nordschleife (Sport mode, Race B)

Single lap, gr4 cars - so around 400hp and 1.3tons

Top drivers posting around 7 mins, sub 8 normally required to finish the race

Hi, my name is thetapeworm and I'm possibly the last person alive to have purchased Gran Turismo sport.

As a result I am also the last person alive to have realised how frustrating the penalty system is or realised this extensive topic exists on here.

If you see me on the track (probably as you lap me) stay clear, I'm learning.

I hadnt played it for a while, so had a go at last week's GR3 race on Dragontail.

First race, taken out on the last corner and given a 1 second penalty for my troubles.

Had a couple of races after but its returned to its box again.

I've just got this, having fun but doesn't appear to have tyre wear or mechanical damage?
