Enjoying just doing the tests at the moment.

How do you get your cars/credits to transfer over from the demo? Kind of assumed it would be automatic but no. It knows it's me as there are old fastest times in there.

It did it automatically for me and that was despite the demo being on a different PS4 to the one I'm playing the full game on...

A little recreation of my real life car. Shame I had to turn it into a 0.5l though!

Impressive, he didnt seem to get an ounce of wheelspin at any point. Sector 1 he was already a second quicker than me!

Just a quick feeler on how many would be interested in racing in a PH championship running Group 4 cars on the following rules? (these can be amended)

Time

Race Nights on Wednesdays (can be changed to suit the majority)

20:30 - lobby opens
20:45 - qualifying begins
21:00 - Race 1 begins (lasts about 15 mins)
21:15 - Break
21:30 - Race 2 (Reverse Grid)

Cars

Group 4 cars, complete freedom over liveries/numbers/cars and can be changed freely between race nights

Driving Aids

ABS and TCS allowed
Colin...hello!!! thumbup

I haven't bought the game yet, still getting my head around the horrible handling mess that is F1 2017 (the sooner my playseat arrives, the better). Might jump into the folder at some point though.

Is anyone struggling with the third to last mission (15 minute race) on the triangular oval(!!) using Gr3 cars? I just can't do it and it is doing my melon in! I managed to lead the race with 35 seconds to go and car no: 2 decided to become a Mooseknuckle and smack me into the wall. Used a BMW M6 and a Aston Martin of some kind but cannot get first place.

Couple of bad races last night, I made some mistakes (braking too late and going off) but some people out there just can't handle being overtaken!

In every race i've been in, the mid pack is just chaos. Got into a few incidents through no fault of my own, now my SR has gone from B to C... :-@

I'm very much up for this Colin. Your other championships were always very well managed.

It took me a few tries, too.

It's all about the slipstream.

The front three pull away pretty quickly. You need to work your way up to 4th by which point you'll be about 2 seconds behind the front three. Then you need to bang in a couple of really quick clean laps to get into the tow and use that to get up with them. Pit when they pit (you can fuel your car a little shorter and sneak a little bit of time that way). Second half of the race you can either sit with the three and make a late surge or cane it and break the tow. I did the latter and won by 3 seconds or so.

WTF?!

I'm struggling to break 1:50. Didn't want to muck about with car setup but I'm getting trounced. Hold my own in the Group 3 race, nowhere near the win in the group 4s.
I've done a 1:50.05 in group 4 (BOP on + hard tyres), optimal said 1:49.3 I think it was. That car handles very well and has excellent traction, my group 4 is the TT and it just wheelspins out of corners. Not sure if the guy in that video has BOP on or not, but he's on hard tyres.

I've got the 458 and Jag F type group 4 cars, but they can't get close to the TT under BOP because they are about 200kg heavier. I've got a WRX too, which may be worth a go as its +14hp and +200kg, maybe the 4wd traction wil offset that though.

Weird thing is I was doing 1:50s in qualifying, when it came to the race I couldn't get anywhere close, I think my best was a 1:51.4, won it though!

I think some tweaking will have to be done to the TT if I climb the SR/DR ranks...
I've seen people win in the 1:48s with the 458 and Alfa but they seem to have them set up perfectly. I'm in the mid 1:50s with the 458 and, as you say, the TT just drives away from the 458.

Will try some others later.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that when using the slipstream behind some cars, I was getting nowhere and really struggled to get to 6th place during half way. Can I ask what car you used and which tyres you went for?

Yeah, because of the slipstreaming you won't just cruise through the field and you can get stuck out on your own between the two packs. You won't easily catch the front three just caning around on your own IMO.

I just used what I had for Gr.3 cars at that point. I think it was the Impreza but not 100% sure. Didn't change the tyres as far as I recall. Was looking at 120-ish at the apex of turn 1 and 155 or so at turn 3.

Looks like I've been playing too much GTA, Ghost recon wild lands and that has sort of destroyed my understanding of how cars work laugh
It's going to be a long rehabilitation I think.

So true. I was stuck in limbo at some points. I think I'll have to get the Impreza as that was the car which was leading/winning. Will give it another try tonight and try not to F and blind smile

Got the la Ferrari last night, that thing is bonkers fast. Does it make a difference to which prize car you get if you achieve all golds or not in the campaign stuff?
