After the last few updates Gr.3 is massively tricky on the dualshock now. Combined with the BoP changes which dictate which cars are quick and fine track limits it's made the last two weeks at La Sarthe and Monza infuriatingly inconsistent. I can't get anywhere near my Opt. times. More practice needed, maybe a change in controller configuration again.

I've noticed traction being more tricky and slides getting even harder to correct in a single tidy action.

The tyre wear is an absolute killer - I think DS4 just causes more scrubbing.

Looking at Kudosprime I've dropped off a lot in Gr.3 and really struggling with consistency. Could just do with backing off the diff a touch to give me a little more help out driving out of corners. Bit closer in the slower stuff.

Must confess I am really struggling with this update.

Never sure why they feel the need to change things.

I was going to say that Bathurst looks like it has damp patches on the track now - but doesn't "feel" wet.

Also, there are definitely bigger variances in grip levels on different surfaces.

You can assign buttons on the controller but you're limited e.g. I've had to change L1 from rear view to push to pass for the Super formula cars. I use bumper cam anyway.

Given the grip characteristics now, wet will be a real handful I think.

Struggling to get into the 2:12s with the BRZ. Anyone got there?

I enjoyed those races too and managed pole and a couple of wins...but, due to those who divebomb and force us to lose SR points I managed to drop to 48 points meaning I was B rated. There's such a lack of racecraft and I am struggling to have clean races in these lower lobbies.
Back to Race C for some rapid SR restoration then!

I've seen tanking DR and SR is a thing a lot of people do deliberately now either to boost FIA points or drop them back into slower races so they can win. The rating points of some profiles look hilarious when you check them out on kudos.

Enjoying the Gr3 race this week. Had a quick qualifying session this evening to get a time in before entering. Didn’t think it was particularly special so was shocked to take pole, followed by a clean race and 1st place.

Shame the DR rating doesn’t seem to increase with that sort of result compared to the tanking you receive if you get punted through no fault of your own and finish at the back. Fingers crossed this week I can use it to make some better progress.
It's based on strength of field. If you didn't get many points it's because you weren't in a high rated race. DR only truly tanks if you drop a few grades of SR. IIRC it's something like 1200 pts up or down per race, max.

Is there a more difficult, lap defining, corner than the left hander at the bottom of the hill at Miyabi? With the current physics etc I cannot nail it. I lose over 0.5 sec there. So fking frustrating.

Have you tried the Beetle? It's really stable through there, it's a bit slow for racing but ok on an empty track for Qually.
It's not fast enough. Looking at 1:33.1 opt at present.

Supra is really good but dodgy on the kerbs, keep grinding away, you'll nail a lap eventually. Are you still on controller?
It seems to be the quickest car by quite a margin. It's the twitching on the brakes and as you feed in the power that kills it. The quickest are taking "that" corner at 100+, I'm pottering through there at 75ish. 0.8 secs lost in that sector.

Yup, still on the DualShock!

I'll have to have another go later. My opt is high 1:32. My actual is 33.7- over driving it. I need to test a couple of other cars, too.

Might be worth having a look at Calster25's lap he uses DS4.
Obviously you can't see the steering input, settings or brake balance but I can't replicate that. I've got understeer where he's neutral, the rear end of the car is all over the place and he's got front end grip and rotation in that corner where I've just got plough on understeer at anything over 70mph. Can't understand the physics and BOP excludes anything other than the Supra.

Still can't replicate but down to 1:33.2, with an opt. of 1:32.8

Track limits are worth a bit, I can't get the car stable enough to take advantage.

Some interesting combos this week. Dragon Trail is such a tough track to get the best lap put together on.

Looks as though Spa is in the update tomorrow. Controversy in the world tour nations final, IOF and lightning fell out after a dirtyish move by IOF.
Some dubious tactics from Fraga for sure. The X2019 obviously favours him so I think he'd probably have won anyway but he chose to employ a couple of strategies which pissed Hizal off. With a handful of laps to go Hizal had a tyre advantage and had closed up behind him. Firstly, he pulled over coming out of La Source and let him by so he could draft and overtake up Kemmel. Then he lifted all the way through Eau Rouge so Hizal had to brake and lost all momentum. He'd also run him wide a couple of times as Hizal tried to make a clean pass. Hizal then dropped back, apparently to save fuel but I think he'd just spat the dummy. The lift got Fraga a 5 second penalty but because Hizal had backed right off he had almost 6 seconds, so still won with the penalty. Plenty of others would have just pushed Fraga off. There was footage of other races watching the replay and being properly pissed off with Fraga's tactics. Salzburg should be interesting. The coverage was decent and the interviews afterwards are worth watching.

The elimination round was in the Super Formula cars at Blue Moon, I guess to replicate Indy for the US venue, and it looked like a bunch of SR E players going at it; total farce!

Two race format definitely needs work. Julia needs a script, she's all over the place when left to her own devices at times.

Not going to pay for time trials on existing circuits with existing cars. Seems a very odd pay feature.
