I got an original One only a couple of years ago. I read an interesting review of a comparison which stated that there was only a marginal difference between the two. Which I can believe initially.
At the moment I'm very happy with the One, and don't have a 4K TV yet. Think when the time comes for a 4K I would exchange the One for a One X.

Does having a 4K tv make a big difference? I might get one but the cheaper ones (just for using with an Xbox in my sons bedroom) don’t get great reviews.
What 4K tellys are people getting?

4K TV's make a big difference if the source is in 4K otherwise not so much. We went for a 50inch Panasonic 4K which was THX Certified as they offered 0 finance for 18months. I've used it with my PS4 Pro and the graphics are so much nicer especially with HDR active. Can't wait for the XBox One X as want UDH BluRay to watch all the latest movies coming out. What 4K tellys are people getting?

I set my new Sony 4K TV up this afternoon. fking hell, what a difference it makes. I thought my eyes were going but clearly they're not, my old Samsung HD looks utterly hopeless next to this. The blacks are so much deeper and the white text on the Xbox menu is so crisp. Destiny 2 looks wild - the jewel purple of the Omolon guns is so intense and the image is so crisp and fluid, it almost looks like the frame rate has been turned up! It also fills the room far better than the outgoing 42" Samsung.
I'm glad I got this TV in now so I can see what sort of improvement a good TV makes before the Scorpio arrives. I've got my eye on a Razer Leviathan to pair with it. Just got to think about where I'll put the sub.

Interesting Digital Foundry feature on Shadow of War, highlighting the difference between the PS4 Pro and One X versions of the game. The One X version tested isn't a final build either, and already looks to be showing a clear improvement over the existing enhancements Pro made to base hardware.
PS4 Pro was criticised slightly in a previous video as it uses the same textures as the base hardware, which can result in them looking a bit odd when upscaled on a 4K screen. One X gets much better textures as a result of much larger memory than Pro, and even with the dynamic resolution enabled in "quality" mode (which will alter resolution to maintain better visual effects) holds a noticeable advantage over Pro, roughly averaging 1620p on Pro vs 1980p on One X.

Given that Pro was already a reasonably substantial upgrade over base PS4 Hardware, it pleases me to see One X appears to be a tangible improvement over Pro. However, we're still missing one thing; a One X killer-app. I originally wasn't sold on Pro, but I saw Horizon Zero Dawn running on a large 4K screen and it looked fantastic. One X may well be the king of the multiplatform title from here on out, but it is still lacking a truly great exclusive showcase piece of software.

Having read the reviews I was under the impression that the intention of Microsoft (and Sony) is to have no exclusives for new consoles going forward? It's going to be like the mobile phone sales model of same software/different hardware options? I also read Microsoft have issued developers some new kit that allows them to design a game which will run on both S and X consoles. Then again, people are holding on their phones for longer these days so will be interesting to see how well the X sells.

That's not an updated title, merely a showcase of putting a 10 year old game on new hardware. It's actually quite interesting that there is any difference when you consider that there's no new assets or code and still designed for sub 720p.
Even so, anti-aliasing and image clarity should be a lot better.
Edit: the difference in KOTOR (out today) is pretty interesting too; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2yXh31wy14
although that's just showing it on the S.
