Mine died last night after 21 days of ownership. It feels like a hard drive failure to me as it won't boot past the error screen and I can't reinstall the OS via USB.
I have decided to send it back and get a refund. it is the shortest life span I have ever had out of a console and I now have serious doubts about its build quality.
A real shame, it could have been great.

Ouch ! Hard drives do fail though ... Usually at the worst times lol ! It feels like a pretty solid and well made unit to me though. Be interested to hear what your doubts are though.I have decided to send it back and get a refund. it is the shortest life span I have ever had out of a console and I now have serious doubts about its build quality.

I did a bit of digging online last night during my problems and it doesn't seem like i'm on my own.
I have had a tamagotchi pets that have lasted longer than this one x.
I will go to a one S now, so that will mean I have had the full set on one consoles.
Too be honest, i'm still running 1080p screen and my AV receiver would need upgrading as well if I went HDR/4K, so maybe a one S is a better fit with what I have at home already. I could tell the difference though.
I guess I expected more with all the hype that the pre-launch stuff stated, going on about making the best xbox experience possible. Reliability is part of that experience unfortunately.

Yeah, 4K is four times the amount of pixels to push so it’s no wonder really.
As a side note, Its quite interesting when you look at the pure numbers of Pixels being pushed... SkyHD/UK HD TV is broadcast in 720p, which is 921,600 Pixels (1280x720).
(non 4k) BluRays are 1080P, which is 2,076,000 Pixels (1920x1080)
XboxOne 4k content (technically 2160P) is 8,294,400 Pixels (3840x2160)
This has to be tue fastest console death I've ever experienced, it has been a bit patchy ever since i got it, “problem with your saved games” on and off needing resetting/factory reset a couple of times, then it started again at the weekend and ended up just being dead, waiting for microstiff to get the return instructions to me now.
