All politics aside (those of you wanting to crusade against the big bad gaming industry might be happier over at reddit)

Put a few more hours in last night and unlocked the CR-2 pistol for the assault class- it is a bit of a beast and definitely worth the grind!! Not so great at range as the default recoil is quite high but, melts enemies up close if your aim is on point (which mine usually isn't hehe!) I'm now working towards the reduced recoil mod which I should unlock tonight, then I'll start levelling up the heavy class.

Finally got to play as Darth Maul this morning too, that was a lot of fun!! Only managed a 10 killstreak before the game ended but, that was without really knowing what any of his abilities are (I still haven't touched the campaign or arcade modes.)

Absolutely zero buyer's regret here thumbup

Fairly much the same for me! the pistol is good - I just need to unlock the recoil mod as well.

Had a great kill streak and lots of kills but then got taken out - I like playing as the Wookie! smile Lots of fun with that.

Yeah, Wookie is good fun. Nice to have the thermal exploder thingy. I tried one of the starfighter re-enforcements (I forget which one). My God, I am a terrible pilot! The controls feel a bit strange and I couldn't quite get my bearings. Not sure if I need to invert something but, it just felt off. Managed to survive a surprisingly long time considering I didn't feel I was in total control and even got a random kill by shooting at the ground hehe I definitely need to get some flying practice!!

My PSN name is (rather predictably) Speckle. If I'm playing in the evenings, I'm usually in a squad already but, you'd be very welcome to join us if there is a free space shoot

Having some good matches now as im getting more groups who seem to know what they are doing instead of headless chicken runs.

Heavy seems to be my fit so climbing the skill tree aiming for next weapon at 50 kills.

Starfighter assault is a bit hit and miss with the rounds again due to folk being all for one or all for none etc

Not a fan of not choosing maps though, but the expanding 'campaign' feel to galactic assault is good fun, had an epic match on Kamino where we got all the way to the last bit but the republic team held it off with massed hero and a 2 corridor defensive position we just couldnt get passed.

Never played this sort of game before but my son has been chattering on about it for ages so we've got it for him for Xmas. Having watched a couple of vids with him, I'm looking forward to it (at least the story bit!).

Finally got the recoil mod for the CR-2 and it makes a big difference! You can be far more accurate at range, I was definitely getting kills that were impossible before!

I've started levelling up the heavy class now and I'm not really getting on with it. Early days yet but, the starting gun doesn't seem great and has quite a bit of spread. I'm probably just used to the assault class so, it'll take ma a little while to find my feet with something different.

Snap! It does make a noticeable difference smile Although I'm still terrible at using it! I seem to have found a good balance in the game for the moment. Although there are definitely some teams which know the maps inside out already!!

I've tried all 4 Multiplayer Games (to unlock the achievements) - Heroes vs Villains is interesting, although the opposing team hadn't quite worked it out! Which was handy. smile

I'm trying to focus on staying with my 'squad' to get 2x Battle Points, but sometimes they start to wander in to parts of the map which I wouldn't go to!!

Oh, I'm still not great with the gun by any means and miss out on many, many kills that I should have got. It's just that I can no longer blame it on the recoil hehe

Part of the problem with squads is that, if I'm playing with 'green' friends, I would rather find them on the battlefield than stick with my 'yellow' squadmates. Plus, everyone usually has a different idea in mind when they respawn. If I'm playing on my own though, I do try to stick with my squad if possible. I would love to have the option to spawn on my squadmates though, I hope that happens.

Still only played Galactic Assault. I'm having way too much fun with it to even think about other modes!

ikwym! I'm still a little rubbish - I might need to tweak the controller settings a tad..

Are you XB1?

'Fraid not, PS4 frown

I'm starting to get the hang of the heavy class a little bit I think. I had a 17 kill game and a 20 kill game this morning (I managed to get Rey but had no idea how to use her effectively and managed an impressive killstreak of only 2 hehe). I've unlocked the 2nd Heavy weapon now but, haven't had chance to try it online yet - hopefully this evening.

The lobby you get can make a massive difference though. Last night, I had a 1 kill game! No, not a type-o....just a single solitary kill was all I could manage! I didn't even have any assists that the game could add to my score to stroke my ego a bit! lol Made even worse by the fact that the guys in my squad were placed 1st and 2nd on the leaderboard with kills in the mid 30s and high 20s respectively!

Yet this morning, same class, same map, same starcards - 17 kills.

I have a playseat challenge on my xmas list (although, Santa has already suggested that he may not have enough cash to stretch to one this year!!)

Hah! I am not sure I have got into double figures, my K/D ration is not in positive figures thats for sure!

I am loving Mos Eisley, and the Kamino levels I think on Galactic assault!

Actually, Mos Eisley was the map I had my 1 kill and 17 kill games on! I like it but, occasionally I get lost hehe Kamino is my favourite map by miles, just so much fun to play!

For once on this type of game, I haven't given my K/D a second thought! Sure, it is nice to have a good game occasionally but, the 'Pew, Pew....Roger, Roger' experience of playing is enough for me thumbup

Yep - sometimes I'm "in the game" and sometimes I just seem to walk in to a trap, again and again!

I've started to save up my battle points to become a hero later in a game, as opposed to spending them on heavy or aerial troops.. But lie you I'm a bit useless - too much jumping in and hacking and slashing away in the open.. I try to stay in enclosed spaces where you can be more effective as a hero and remember to let my health build back up between attacks.

I think it's good that the K/D stats aren't there right now... Although surely they'll be coming.

So is this any good chaps? I bought the first one when it dropped in price, no way was I gonna pay £100 for it and I did get a few weeks enjoyment out of it.
It's Star Wars so will always have that feel good factor but the game was very shallow and didn't hold my interest for ages like some other Dice games. Is this a bit more tactical, ie can you play together as a squad at a more measured pace? The previous game was too much of a meat grinder with luck more than skill determining the outcome and the run die rinse repeat got old quite quickly.

Also the weapons all felt very samey in the first one, is this changed much?
