£100! Deluxe or not, that's preposterous!
I bought the first one second-hand for all of £12, spent longer waiting for it to install than I did playing it, uninstalled it and I don't even know where it is anymore.
Liklihood of me buying the second one? Very, very small indeed.

I watched Lirik playing it last night. If it wasn't for the Star Wars overlay I think the general gameplay appeared to be more like CoD than BF. The play area seemed quite small and deaths every few seconds. I'll try and give it a go when the beta is open this weekend but it's not looking hopeful for me.

Looks very pretty - gameplay looks to be about the same (which shouldn't be a surprise for a sequel)

Open beta this weekend - I shall definitely be taking a look.

I'll d/l it this weekend.
My son and I are still playing this, him mostly tbh as he can now kick my butt. Still plenty of players online and he kicks butt there as well.

I've been made obsolete by a 7yo.

Although it's developed by Dice it's nothing like BF and definitely more like Cod, in fact probably even more frantic. It's OK in small doses and it's Star Wars which is a major draw but it definitely didn't have the longevity for me. I think I played it for about 2-3 weeks which when you consider I've played BF games for over a year sometimes is pretty crap.

Definitely not worth the £100 or so quid they'll probably charge for it, I'll wait until it's on sale.

I'm definitely waiting to see the reviews when the full game is out, though if I can get into the beta I will try it as playing the beta of the first one turned me off completely (it wasn't the map (Hoth was rubbish though) or the constant dying but my inability to gel with the controls that did it)

I loved the first one, even if I was total ste at it! I'm not a hardcore gamer, but played it a lot, enjoyed a Star Wars game so much I could overlook some of its shortcomings. Can't wait for the next one!

Downloaded the beta and having switched from battlefield 1 directly to the beta I'm struggling. The space battles are rubbish (why have they made flying so hard!?)

However I was enjoying being the droids against the clones on the ground, the reverse was not true. I couldn't hit the droids unless they were up close.

Not sure about it seeming washed out, seems fine to me though the difference between a darkened place to light is still blinding

if they made it too much like the movies you wouldn't be able to hit a thing!

I had a few games last night. Only played Galactic Assault and Strike so far so can't comment on the space battles yet. I agree that the droids are hard to hit. In fact, they're quite difficult to even see at times. They just seem to blend in to the walls and buildings around them (admittedly, this could just as easily be my eyesight being crap).

I'm generally not very good at this kind of game but, it was good fun! There has been a lot of talk about improvements to the depth of the classes but, based on my very brief gametime so far, that certainly wasn't evident. Doesn't bother me particularly but, I know there are some on here for whom this is a big deal.

The points system seems better than pickups, even though I'll never do well enough to be a hero hehe

Overall, multiplayer feels very similar to the first game. If you enjoyed the first one, you'll love it. If you didn't, I don't think you'll find much here that is different. I was a bit disappointed that there is no option to squad up with mates in the beta, on PS4 at least, I think I would have enjoyed myself even more if I could have died repeatedly played with friends!

Not sure if I'll be purchasing ont he strength of the beta alone, I'll want to see some reviews of the campaign etc. first.

Played this on PC:

It looks very much like the first one some nicer textures and little details such as leaves blowing in the wind, birds and civilans running about in the distance (on Naboo).

Gameplay seems to be very similar, no pick ups which is great, class system like Battlefield which makes more sense and the ability to upgrade your classes and weapons.

Space battles is where its at! You now actually control your spacecraft on PC WASD control your roll and thrust. No more stupid "Stunt" moves and seems to be much more skill focused. It even picks up my joystick. I just hope there are 1st person only serves for some classic X-wing v TIE fighter matches.

It's either this or destiny 2 for my pic so I'm umming and aahhing as to which to get. However it m only in for the single player campaign which I'm excited about as long as it's not 2 hours long.

tbh both of those games are more about MP then single player.

Had a good play last night and really enjoyed it, the Space Battles I think have come on a long way, I'll be buying, but then i'm probably not the best barometer, as I enjoyed 1 a lot.

Really like the points system for perks, thats better than the power ups, seems more of achievement, although I'm ste, so getting 5,000 points for a hero is going to be rare!

You can squad up, top left hand corner of home screen and you'll see your avatar. Click on that and you can invite.

Pretty much agree with your review, I'm struggling to see others, and often they've killed me before I've fired a shot. I am struggling to kill people tho. I can pump round after round into them yet I end up dying frown

I should add that was about battlefront 2 as the imperial point of view campaign is really interesting. Destiny 2 I just like the world and mechanics.

Doesn't feel or play any better then the first one to be honest. If the campaign is decent enough i may pick it up just for that, but for the multiplayer aspect it's a no for me.

Played 3 or 4hrs over the weekend. Liked it because it was Star Wars, it has potential but because I suck at these games I don't like it.

I turned it off after a couple of goes last night and went back to rocket league. Pretty much sums it up for me. I really struggled with hitting people vs them hitting me. I seemed to die much quicker than they did, despite hitting them (if that makes sense)

It's not worth £80. Or £50.
