Star Wars: Battlefront 2

My nephew quite fancies this game, what do I have to buy so that he gets the full experience? I've seen an anniversary edition for £20 or you can buy the base game for £10 and some DLC thing for £20?
Basically I don't want him not to be able to play certain bits that his mates can.
Or am I better off buying him a year of EA access for £20?

This game is free for a fortnight via Epic Games (you also need Origin).
Been playing today, apart from initial log in issues caused by so many new players, it runs really well. Been having a lot of fun with it. All the sounds/music make it feel like the movies, they've done a great job on the atmosphere. Would recommend giving it a go if you can spare the 90GB.

Agreed with brian, very frustrating having to download endless amounts of software and register numerous times just to be able to play. When you can just click, download and play on Steam, this Origin and Epic stuff is a pain in the arse, makes me far less likely to use them again.
I had a clearly limited download as well, took 6 hours and was still installing after a night sleep, guess you can blame F2P for that.
Nice game, though obvious issues

I gave it a go, but it is all FPS, nothing much else to do. Thought it might vary a bit but no.
And really if you are not much good at Fps's you are not going to enjoy this game, it is just spawn, die, spawn die relentlessly, the campaign mode is limited and though I think there is an awful lot to do, the mainstay is online FPS, and that leaves me cold sadly.
Uninstalled and won't be going back, thank God I didn't pay for it!

So you didn't try Starfighter battles? TBH I enjoyed those as much as the new Squadrons game. There's also the Hero's Vs Villains melee mode and Ewok hunt and mechanised battles.

I'm playing in third person, didn't realise there was a first person option! I like it in a "turn your mind off, spam out some shots and hope you get a kill, don't worry when you die" kind of way, sort of like BF1 when that was busy. Helps that I'm playing with friends so we're just chatting away and not really thinking about the game. And really if you are not much good at Fps's you are not going to enjoy this game, it is just spawn, die, spawn die relentlessly, the campaign mode is limited and though I think there is an awful lot to do, the mainstay is online FPS, and that leaves me cold sadly.

Haven't tried the campaign, may give that a go when friends aren't online.
