You clearly havent seen me play biggrin
Actually even I am not THAT bad
Not that I will be playing CODWW2 based on this thread
You should play it. It's great fun especially war mode as it doesn't effect your KD so you can go suicidal to get the objective. I love it. It's also good for levelling up and doing camo challenges.

I would say the MP has improved a lot since release (hit detection and lag). Maps don't really flow that well I think and there is only 9 of them.

And soon the EU will be getting populated HQ again.

I don't know, sometimes it can actually liven up a game.
I agree, it's possible. I had a similar game on Gustav Cannon where i realised what was going on, slowed down from my normal run and gun and did alright. But it doesn't always happen that way and I've been on the wrong end of a few hammerings as a result.

After 3 weeks of ownership I can't say I've played it that much, but I'm actually beginning to warm to the campaign mode.

Not tried online yet, reading the last half of this thread has put me off. Hopefully the problems will be ironed out, I'll probably venture into that during the xmas break.

That's what I'm doing. I have the game but it will be issues as a Christmas present for my son (which I'll get some use out of!) I figured that it may be more stable by the time I start playing. A few of the lads at work are getting it for Christmas too so we're going to do a group chat of usernames and game times!

Having reached Prestige 1, i would say my overall thoughts on the game so far are:

Good

Fundamentally, i think it's a great game. Lots of usable guns, good maps (albeit not many maps at the moment). The daily / weekly challenges will encourage people to try out different game modes and different gun types. For example, i rarely ever think quickly enough to switch to my pistol, unless I'm completing a pistol challenge.

Accepting that supply drops are here to stay, at least you seem to earn them quickly. I earned one rare supply drop about every 2 hours in MWR. In WWII itis closer to three an hour. At the moment there's nothing really worth having, but unsurprisingly supply drop guns are on their way, so i've so far saved about 35 supply drops for when they're released.

Bad

It's the most unsuccessful launch in CoD history. I still don't have other players in my headquarters. I can sympathise to a degree because there's no flexibility in the CoD launch schedule, but these are AAA games so there's really no excuse.

Drop-shotting should be nerfed. Like advanced movement, it just gives an unfair advantage to those who have a Scuff controller IMO. I say this as the owner of one, which I bought for the advanced movement games as you really were at a disadvantage without one. It's less of an issue with drop-shotting, but it's still a problem.

The most frustrating point by a mile for me is that after all these years, the key to success remains the quality of your connection. Last night, for example, I picked up the daily challenge of winning a CTF match. I played one, got hammered, changed lobbies, got hammered again. Both matches were joined part way through. At that point I seriously considered giving up for the night, but instead I switched to TDM and, iirc, finished top of the leaderboard in 3 of the 4 matches and 3rd in one of them. Did my CoD skills change? Nope. Did I switch to one of the OP guns that the community are obsessed about? Nope. As always, the key to success is connection. In the games I was winning I could have used pretty much any loadout in the game in done well. In the CTF games i was using the BAR (considered by most to be the best gun in the game) and it made no difference, I was around -10 KDR.

In other news

I say I reached Prestige 1, but in WWII there are 3 prestige systems running concurrently. You can prestige your overall character, as you've always been able to, your divisions and your guns. Prestiging the division gives you access to a prestige weapon associated with that division. I've prestiged Infantry, Airborne and Armored and none of the guns you get are up to much. I think the one to go for is Mountain as apparently the sniper rifle you unlock is the best in game. What the benefit would be of prestiging a division for a second time i don't know. You probably get a supply drop.

With the guns, the first prestige you unlock the ability to show your clan tag on your gun, but it's so feint as to be near invisible. With the second you can add a kill counter.

The system is a bit odd because when you prestige your character, you re-lock everything as you would expect, but when you unlock guns/divisions again you're back to where you left off. So for example with MWR, after you prestiged when you unlocked a gun you would have to use it to unlock the attachments . With WWII, when you unlock the gun whatever attachments you had unlocked or weapon prestige level you were at prior to prestiging your character are available to you immediately. The same is true with divisions.

That turned into more of a rant than i was intending hehe

I like this new system was disappointed to find that Division Prestige 2 only gives you a special outfit to wear, 2nd prestige on weapons is a complete waste of time (and you can only have clan tag OR kill counter not both)

Character prestige also gives you an additional load out screen.

The supply drops are OK but I've found myself buying a few 'tickets' just to get the special weapons unlock.

Favourite Weapons :

SMG - MP40 without a doubt
Rifle - BAR is insane, but the fully loaded AK47 is amazing
Sniper - I love the Enfield (waiting to get the special cut down version)
LMG - MG15 (silly special editions) though I haven't given the MG42 a proper go yet
Shotgun - Toggle auto shotgun (cant wait the get the gold sawn off version)
Pistol - Mauser Broomhandle (again special version with shoulder stock and long barrel is insane)

Not gonna quote the whole post but I think Snubs summed it up very well. I’m liking using different guns. Really liking the SVT40 at the moment.

<snip>

You can already get loads or legendary and Epic guns from rare supply drops that give permanent XP boosts while using. I have about 5 or 6 (Oil Can II, Enigma, Candy, etc).
Some of my guns give perks when playing zombies too (one of my guns gives 15% xp in multiplayer and 10% in zombies)

The ‘new’ supply drop guns coming soon are apparently cosmetic ‘rare’ variants only and give nothing better in the stat lines. Not sure it’s with saving up all those crates TBH

All good points and i'm far from sure it's worth it either. I have a couple of epic variants already as i opened the first few drops that i got. I've given consideration to opening them purely to stock up on XP bonuses.

The reasons that, in balance, i decided to keep them were:

1. Your social score, which is known to effect the likelihood of getting the best drops, will in part be effected by having people watching you open them in the Headquarters and, as it stands, mine is still empty.

2. As mentioned, my understanding is that whole new guns are on the way. Some bloke posted up a YouTube video showing them a couple of days ago and I've seen others discussing them since. I'll have to have another look into it as i could very well be mistaken.

3. If i'm wrong about the above, or decide i want the XP bonuses, i can change my mind in a heartbeat and splash out. But once they're gone they're gone (I'll be damned if i'm going to actually buy them).

Nearly prestiged Airborne, Infantry, Armoured and my player.

PPSH-41 is my go to gun.
Bren is great fun to use, insta kill but slow fire rate. Hip firing with it is tricky I find.
Lee Enfield - Royal. Snipers are easy to use in this game and I am almost getting decent at Quick scoping. Don't have the Krak yet though.
BAR - Is just insane and will probably get a nerf soon.
Sawn off shotgun is a nightmare to use. Haven't tried the rest.

War Mode: Out of the 11hrs game time I have I would say 10.5hrs of it have been in war.

Yep, BAR has definitely been nerfed. I used it for a couple of games this evening alongside the PPSH and i prefer the latter. So my guns would be:

Rifles: STG-44
Subs: PPSH
LMG: Lewis
Sniper: Lee Enfield
Shotgun: Toggle Action

As for kill streaks, I've been using:

Molotov's (surprisingly good fun)
UAV (or whatever it's now called)
Glide bomb

However having had loads of guide bombs miss, i think i might switch to the plane machine gun thing.

Finished up tonight with an excellent game of Dom. We won 201 - 200 having been down at half time. The map was Pointe du Hoc, the one with the trenches. Because 'B' is in the middle off a small circular map, no matter where you spawn you can get to it quickly. So by the end when everyone could see it was close, everyone was constantly piling into B, nades all over the place, total chaos and great fun. Looking at the final scoreboard everyone on both teams had a near-even KDR. If it keeps going like that it'll be a very addictive game.

As for the new weapons coming up in game, see here:

Haven’t been able to check yet but HQ is populated. Commend your fellow players.

Also, bans been handed out to those that used the prestige glitch.

When you prestige a division you press something on the menu page, keep it open and walk up to the general, you get the player and division prestige.

Picked this up yesterday, after much updating and down loading I finally managed to have half an hour on the campaign, I enjoyed it, made it off the beach, cleared the 5 bunkers and have just advanced deeper into the countryside to the farm buildings before I called it a day, will have a proper blast over the weekend.

I remain mildly optimistic about it, visually looks great to me!

I've not completed the campaign yet too much online playing War but from what little I have played I've really enjoyed.

From what I've read it's a 48hr ban and full reset!
