I would suggest the g29 is a better all round package considering the price.
But if you want to move to PC then get a Fanatec wink

B2b - your wheel stories with the mrs does make me chuckle smile
You should hear the funny stories, like the time we sat down one evening and a classic movie came on the TV..

I said: You've gotta watch this, it's an absolute classic.
She said: What's it called
I said: Close Encounter of the Third Kind
She said.....

wait for it...

This is a true story I kid you not....

I can't watch that I haven't seen the first 2....

I literally fell off the sofa I was laughing so hard. I have more too...

I use the T300 wheel with std pedals. (Probably why I'm the worst then.....excuse sorted :-))

As I don't have a specific rig and just strap the wheel to a chair, I don't feel the need to upgrade the pedal set. Auto flappy paddle is also fine so I'm not looking to go with a shifter. I guess it depends on how serious you take your sim racing.

Love the T300 wheel though.

My G27 came with a shifter but it feels lousy imho and i just use the paddles. I drive my
fabia on the paddles so feels natural enough

I'm a big thrustmaster fan since I got lucky on gumtree about 18 months ago. I got a T500rs with the TH8A shifter and gt omega pro for less than half the price of new (at the time). They had barely been used and he threw in a spare unused seat for the omega rig. Fantastic kit, and a pretty big upgrade from my trusty G27.

If you've got the cash to do it, I'd stick with PC as it gives you a plethora of upgrade paths if necessary and lots of options for add-ons. PS4 is what it is and will be reliable, but you've got nowhere to go with it.

I understand about the PC, however because I only power it all on just a few times a year I would like the reliability of the PlayStation. Im giving the PC one more chance I'll let you know how it goes

Forgot to mention that one big change with the current consoles being so dependent on internet connections is updates. If you're only going to fire it up once in a while, you will need to switch on the PS4 the day before you want to play. There are so many game and system updates/patches now, and they're huge. Most of them stop you playing the game you want to. It's not like the PC where you could spend a couple of days figuring out what's going on, but it's annoying nonetheless...

Not enough material for a book sadly... frown

Never mind this you've got a Stoopid Challenge to get back to old boy... smile

i reckon with a perfect lap I can get maybe 0.5sec more at a push...so don't go too quick lol

I'll give it a try tonight - the car feels too big for the track but it's certainly a challenge.
The telemetry has shown me where I can go faster wink

Nah. Game bombed a couple of times last night & failed to load Le Mans at all, all of a sudden
I'm sure I *could* get it working fine with time, but time I dont have.
I'll look at getting the G27 working with my PS4, or failing that get a G29 or similar.
I do expect the visuals wont quite compare to the PC (I've been running at mostly high & it looks properly stunning) but it'll look a lot better than the bloody error dialogues.

Stoopid challenges works across platforms Edt so even if you go ps4 you can join in, you do need the pc to run lapupdater which sends the data though

Well, found a registry hack on some site - posted by a chap who was suffering similar issue. Played for 90 mins lsat night (well, this morning oops) without a hiccup.
I'll keep the PS4 version as a backup - it's got a few more cars so will get a bit of use.
Think biggest difference I feel is the textures; the GTX card has (iirc) 4GB for this .. doubt PS4 can match this. On Ultra it's like watching racing on telly.

It's interesting that you can see a difference. I only have PS4 so can't comment, but I personally think there is a limit these games can get too with how it "looks". When I'm concentrating on a hot lap (Stoopid challenges does that to you !), I really doubt I could tell the difference between PS4 and some super HD set-up. I'm so focussed on the car, the corner, the controls I don't even notice my wife waving frantically at me that dinner is ready :-).

Now I've both I'll revert back to PS4 as/when my PC turns evil again. I know what you mean about getting hung up on the visuals; though with my projector setup in the darkened garage, it's a kinda 'showcase' piece & I really do marvel at the PC's version, when settings are on Ultra.

Sorry EdT I've never run it on Ultra anything as my biggest concern was always performance/frame rate and I either run triple screens or oculus rift...single screen doesn't cut for me. I can understand why a projector would be awesome though.

The frame rate's fine - which I admit being surprised about.

I ran the NVIDIA auto callibrate application (outside of the game) that adjust the dozens of game video settings, promising best compromise of quality vs fps. Was fine. Then I though sod it, let's drag the NVIDIA slider all the way over to max quality. Looked 'mazin & fps still silky smooth. I think only once I noticed any fps drop, when heavy rain was on the windscreen expect there's more to process.

It's only an small form factor liquid cooled i5 PC, but there's a nice fat GTX 970 card shoved in there.
Also It's giving a single 1080 output so less maths than multiscreens or VR.

To celebrate the PC's return to favour I'll be getting a Thrustmaster 300RS with Pro pedals smile
