What really pisses me off, and apparently the missus doesn't have the same problem, is that if I set a waypoint on the map, so I have a red route to follow (it doesn't apply when there's an in-mission yellow route) the camera doesn't follow me properly, so if I turn 90deg right, I end up looking at the side of my bloody horse, and I can't see where I'm going. It means I have to constantly use both joysticks, one to steer me and one to steer the camera and it's a total fking pain in the arse.

Now that you mention it, I get that too. Hadn't realised it was while I had a mission line active

My lesson for the day, as given by my wife (PS4):

"I know the game tells you to repeatedly press X to make your horse speed up, but what it doesn't tell you is that you don't need to hold X to maintian speed. You can do that by pushing forward on the left joystick. That leaves your right hand free to move the camera, while your left hand steers and holds the speed.

You knob."

Now I'm worried, because it seems my not only has my wife got nicer tits than me, but she's better at video games too. I suspect my days in this house are are numbered, unless I can strategically break something important that I am confident of fixing again. Last time I tried that with the burglar alarm, it did not go well...

Yes. reminded me of a bit in Fallout 3 were you spawned into a building only to find a sodding great Deathclaw behind the door!

Completed the main story last night. Went to help the chap find his mate Gavin but after talking to him nothing came of it, no mission confused

Jack Whitehall obviously managed to negotiate a decent repeat fee.

I just shot the fker in Saint Denis. Let's see if he rises again..

Ive read that Nigel’s friend Gavin’s full name is Gavin Chiliad.

I’ve today just got to 100%. Was quite the chore.

Gavin’s friend (he’s English, of course) is in every town and on every road I travel now. If he doesn’t start to leave me alone his days are numbered.

Is getting a perfect pelt really as hard as waiting for a 3 star animal to appear randomly (ie. take forever) or can some 2 star animals produce them.
I have the Buck Antler trinket for perfect pelts so damage isnt an issue.
Or do I just have to kill 50 deer an hope on of them was perfect.
I want to get the satchels you see.

I think they need to be 3 star... use your Bi-Noc-u-lars to look for the three star ones... or just kill a whole load of them and get lucky...

So it really is that long and drawn out?
By the time I have looked at each one and found out that they are all 2 star, they then start running around and you cant keep track of which one you wanted anyway.
Looks like I will have to spend quite a few hours just killing anything with 4 legs.

A scoped rifle helps a lot, the buck antler trinket should boost a 2 star animal to give a 3 star pelt too I think. Kill needs to be clean though.

You get given a scoped rifle in one of the last chapter 2 missions.

Aiming at any animal tell you it rating in the bottom right corner of the screen.

I haven't done much hunting for a while but remember it was patchy, some times it would upgrade and other times it wouldn't. It would also let me thump small 3 star animals with repeaters or rifles or body shot bigger 3 star animals and still get a perfect pelt rather than a good or poor.

Unfortunately it's not completely true. The smaller the animal the better the chance of a 2 star animal giving a 3 star pelt. All songbirds are good for this, most (all?) things that go in the satchel get upgraded, but things that get stowed on the nag don't.

Always aim for the head with the right weapon (i.e. don't use an overpowered rifle). Also, use eagle eye to look at the animal tracks as this also tells you the quality of the animal. No need to use binoculars - you can stick them UP on your tripod!

Never you mind

Fun, but I’m sure, just like shooting birds from a moving train, there’s an easy way to do it and there’s my hail of bullets, death and destruction way.
Hmmm I think starting in Strawberry would have been the better option biggrin

I'll try it later today and see how it goes.
