Finished the main story line last night....been playing since release day so I've certainly had my money's worth.

A couple of gripes.

It was too easy. After a point - money is not an issue for Arthur. I enjoyed it more when you were forced to loot, rob, hunt and explore to make $s. Once you have say $1000 in the bank the economy in the game breaks and that early struggle is no longer there.

The hunting, gathering and crafting layer is a little pointless, I can absolutely see the the fun in stalking legendary animals - the potions are so easily bought or looted that gathering becomes a waste of time.

I think a "survival" mode would be great, forcing you to scavenge, hunt, craft and rob to make progress. Maybe not for everyone but I think it would immerse you more deeply into what is a fantastic open world.

Having said that - I thought it was an absolutely phenomenal gaming experience. One point the final ride back into camp having spent hours with Arthur and his horse was every bit as moving and cinematic for me as having Jose Gonzalez playing as John Marston rides into Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 1.
I think they will do another zombie style DLC for it at some point.

Agree about the final ride back into camp, was genuinely a bit sad for it to end laugh
Agreed as a cinematic and story point of view its brilliant, right up until the end of the 2nd epilogue

I agree that another zombies DLC is likely but aren't we all rather 'zombied' out by now?

It's been done to death (no pun intended..) across multiple games and platforms and even TV and movies!

Surely it's time to think of something new and move on?

The amount of random Alien/UFO easter eggs in the game...... I wonder if they'll be an Aliens DLC?

Although that already sounds a bit daft.

I spent most of this weekend "unlocking" the map...

I say most, a lot of it was spent going backwards and forwards to camp to empty my satchel all over Pearson hehe and the rest being attacked by cougars and other gangs.

Still epic!

I'd just be happy if we get to continue the story of Red Dead Redemption, all the groundwork is there

I genuinely think it's the best game I've played since GTA5. I don't include driving games in that as they are just bread and butter, but of all the other games I've played it's been fantastic.

To avoid spoilers it's possibly the only game to bring a dampness to my eyes at the end. It's just a shame the way the story changes after that. Unlikeable character is putting it nicely.

Red Dead Battle Royale is all the industry knows at the moment. I much prefer either zombies or it just continues in to a re-mastered RDR1.

It would be nice if it did. Don't see any reason for them not to do it tbh. Cost would be minimal.

Mexico is physically in the game, can be accessed by a glitch or something...

Maybe it's a sign of a possible RDR1 remaster? Unless it's got something to do with online at some point.

Sort of, it's there, probably because they used the rdr1 map as a basis for it, but it's just a bunch of low-res trees near the coast and 2D stuff so you can see it over the river.

You can actually get over there, and it's properly rendered, just empty.

Am I right in thinking there is an online “battle royal” mode planned? As per Apex Legends and pubg

There already is a 30+ player shoot each other mode. Can’t remember the name of it though. May be gun rush.
