It transpires that Mrs Doofus doesn't know her L from her R and as a consequence, is now wanted for several unsolicited murders and episodes of animal cruelty.
Tell me about it in moments of high panic I've accidentally lassoed a tree and shot my horse! Finally got the Legend of the East satchel and the Ghost Bison outfit last night. Think I can stop hunting for a while and continue with the storyline in Rhodes.
One of the best things coming from doing hours and hours of hunting is that I've spent much more time going through the map with my eyes open rather than sticking auto-pilot on. A bit of advice for anyone starting out: Check the map for any little squares representing cabins or buildings on your route and make a point of swinging past them and poking your head in. There's all sorts of interesting little scenes going on behind closed doors that add a layer of mystery.
A few favourites from the ones I've found:
A perfectly normal looking cabin, but inside it looked like an explosion of body parts because of a meteorite having crashed through the roof.
A sad scene where I passed a cabin with smoke billowing out from over the doors - the stove pipe was presumably blocked and an entire family had died during dinner.
A weird one where a tree had fallen ontop of a little house, and when I climbed inside there happened to be nothing but a perfect bat corpse under it. I didn't even know bats were in the game!
I've also found 2 hobbit style houses - one under a mangled tree in the plains around emerald station which was inhabited (I didn't go in as I was laden with pelts, and another way up in the North East which you can't get inside. Arthur makes a sketch and makes a note of that one. I noticed there was a marking above the door which looked like a turtle. Wondering if there's some lore that will reveal it to be connected to that religious cult that worhsips turtles from earlier in the game.
Also its worth checking the map for any corpse markers nearby in a new area where you know you haven't previously killed anyone/thing. I've found a few other interesting tidbits on frozen bodies...

Late to the party, but just bought this.
Lengthy installation completed last night, so excited to crack open a beer and play it tonight.
While it was installing I watched a good video on Youtube: 20ish min rundown of the Red Dead Redemption. https://youtu.be/ylAap8FSc6U
Brought back some good memories and a good refresher before diving into the new one.

Finally managed to complete the main story - loved it, but my god it's long. Too long, IMO. Felt like alot of filler on the main story.
Not a major spoiler, but I'll tag it anyway:
The Epilogue with John was waaaay too long, it felt completely unnecessary and took away the shine from Arthur's story. The credits should have rolled after Arthur's story and had a short 1-2 hour epilogue with John. I really didn't need to do busy work on the farm or buildings :/
