Yeah, as above, Curse of Osiris was simply totally underwhelming and added nothing of any real value to the game.

Warmind was actually a decent step in the right direction and I did play it for a reasonable bit of time, but unfortunately Destiny lives and dies on playing with other people and as the Clan gradually moved on to other things again, it gets harder to find people to play with and therefore much less interesting to play.

That said, had I not made the mistake of buying the digital deluxe version of the game prior to launch, I'm almost certain that I wouldn't have touched D2 for the last six months. CoO was a non-factor, and Warmind wasn't enough on it's own to justify the cost of the expansion pass.

The thought of chucking a further £40 at Bungie for the next expansion just feels like a complete no-no at this stage though. The final few months of the original Destiny's life cycle saw it in a very good place and D2 has taken so many sideways and backwards steps in important areas that I simply begrudge any further outlay on it.
Sims, I'll very likely pick it up in 12 months time for peanuts so we can plough our way through all the content then thumbup It'll probably mean you'll have to replay alot of stuff you've already done but, at least I can show how it's done and carry you through the harder stuff hehe

Who knows, it might even be a decent game by then! They're not getting premium money from me though...I'll wait for bargain basement time.

Looks like not many people are still playing this from here or the clan. I didnt play it for a few months and decided to give it another go with both expansions. Expansions where not worth the money but there is a lot more to do on the game now.

Solstice of heroes is now out which is one hell of a grind but gives out 400 power armour. Just finished the blues and im leaving it at that as there is no way I can master work it. Guardian currently at 394. I think you cant go above 385 with our grinding the solstice challenges.

Anyway im enjoying it again now after a few months away from it and im looking forward to Forsaken.

I'm done with Destiny and am quite salty about it to be honest.

I really bought into the original idea of a 10 year long MMO type game with an open world and huge amount of growing options for you to explore in your own way. I gave it plenty of time to develop and improve too.

However, what we got was a cynical money grab of a series of half finished games that continually went through an overly long cycle of fixing the issues, only to reset everything and start again. The amount of grinding involved is inexcusable too.

I am still playing, and I enjoy it for what it is. I don’t see it as a grind as I don’t chase stuff.

It s very easy to pick up and put down in a way that no other game I have come across. And on a £/hr ratio I can’t think of another game that comes close.

I suspect you haven't played Fortnite, or Rocket League?

Both of them blow Destiny out of the water in terms of value for money and being easy to dip in and out of and, to be frank, respect for their player base.

I've deleted Destiny 2 from my hard drive.

Like Youngsy, I'm a bit salty about D2 and what an ultimately shallow experience it was, but I think deep down I'm just annoyed with myself for pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe version and pissing away eighty quid. What make it worse is that by the time we got to the final six months of the original game's lifespan, it was a genuinely excellent game and a year after release Destiny 2 is still an inferior sequel.

I never realised there was so much politics and strength of feeling around computer games! I got D2 with the bundle, played it for about 30 hours, happy with the entertainment it provided, sold it and moved on to the next one. I would never be paying something like £80 for a game eek

I bought Far Cry 5, have gone through it, done and dusted...will buy another game in a month or so but generally not spending more than £30 on one.

I generally buy new games if something takes my fancy, this year for example Far Cry 5 and God of war which was excellent. They do have an end though and once finished I will never put them back on again.

COD has always been my game that I will play throughout the year but it has got a bit rubbish and the new one is probably the first 1 I will not buy since the original MW1.

Destiny has grabbed my attention again and after a break it seems now to be the game i'm hoping will keep me coming back throughout the next year as there seems to be nothing coming up i'm looking forward to. £60 quid for the new Forsaken expansion is a lot though.

Agree with the original 10 year plan, I didn't put much effort into D1 but if it was as good near the end as I have read then I dont understand why they didn't just keep bringing out new DLC and make it last for 10 years. Iv grinded a lot (for me) in D2 and ill be pissed when D3 wipes all that effort out.

30 hours is a drop in the ocean, some of us racked up more than two thousand hours on the original hence being happy to drop eighty notes on the sequel.

Don't worry, we got plenty of vitamin D (there's vitamin D in beer, right?) hehe

I think I ultimately cashed out at around 1800 hours on D1 over it's lifespan, which was excellent value for money. The entire point of a game like D1 and D2 is replayability and loot.

Some games are all about the campaign and that is fine for £30/£40 or whatever. Destiny is all about the endgame, the campaign is just the intro.

From memory on D2 I got to whatever the max power was something like 375 or something and then to get higher you needed to be in clans etc. which to be quite frank I couldn't be arsed with - I only get to play intermittently due to family commitments maybe a couple of hours in the evening so dont have the time to play all day with people remotely. Also found its quite embarrassing playing some of the online team games on D2 as I am not an expert and the other guys in the fire team getting annoyed I wasn't charging around instantly destroying everything.

The only game I ever found time to master was CoD the world war 2 version of the game years ago, I used to frequently make 30 kills to 0 deaths on that but since then just cannot commit to all the online interaction a lot of these games seem to require nowadays.

You could have joined our clan. Being in a clan meant you got high level rewards for the stuff that everyone else did, you didn't even need to participate. As for ability level, that really wouldn't have been an issue - if Lovechild can make the grade, anyone can. hehe

Honestly, nobody would have cared, the only membership requirement was a sense of humour. Chances are you can shoot better than most of us anyway thumbup

Ah, now you're talking! Horizon Zero Dawn is a game that a few of us still get very excited about.

I thought it was the best game released last year, irrespective of format, and is still the PS4's best game. It's visually stunning, has an utterly engrossing story, incredibly rich world and combat that rewards experimentation.

Agree with all of that, it was the first game I've ever bothered to platinum. In fact, you've reminded me, I still have the DLC to play thumbup

God of War is another one I've been very impressed with.
