Goldeneye won't happen, as it's a Rare game and Microsoft own Rare now.
Donkey Kong Country is on the Mini SNES though.
Goldeneye didn't appear on the Rare Replay XB1 compilation though, but either way there would also be the fact they'd need to licence the Bond name again. Also, whilst people may have fond memories of it the game has not aged well at all, in fact it's borderline unplayable now.
How dare you. its still fking brilliant!
It's not, graphics-aside, controls and control schemes have come on a long way since then and it plays awfully these days.

Well I still enjoy it. Its still quite fun. The only controls which have changed from back in those days is having two control sticks rather than one. It’s not so bad.

Still have my N64 and fire it up every year or so for a quick go.

Sadly I've heard it's very unlikely that there will be an N64 Classic, but Sega need to jump on the bandwagon and make a mini Megadrive with; Streets of rage 2, Desert/Jungle Strike, Road Rash etc.
there was a sega megadrive collection available on the PS3 years ago - ive got it somewhere. it had some crackers on it!
And on the xbox too:

Super Metroid is currently taking up all my spare time. Can't believe I didn't play this first time around.

I still have my copy but can't play it at all now. I didn't like the N64 controller when it was new, but having had 15 years of twin sticks I can't go back. The majority of early 3d games just don't stand the test of time since developers hadn't quite figured out how the camera and controls should work - I used to love the likes of Tomb Raider and Ridge Racer but now they're unplayable due to how odd the controls are. On the SNES though they'd really nailed how 2d games should work, so they're just as fun now as they were back in the day. The main disadvantage was a lack of save games, which is now sorted by emulation. Of all the game included I think only Starwing feels dated now, whereas for an N64 the only games I'd want to play again are both Zelda titles, Mario Kart 64 and Doom

Well that's Super Mario World, Street Fighter, F Zero, Mario Kart, and Donkey Kong completed.
Managed to get to stage 3 on Contra! Lol.
Started Mario RPG but abandoned that for now to go to Yoshis Island cos I remember loving that and it's still great

I've really enjoyed replaying A Link to the Past and FFIII. Still maintain that FF7 is the best in that entire series and still secretly yearn for a chocobo of my own. Who wouldn't want a chocobo.

Had a laugh yesterday. Took the SNES along to a family gathering for us of the right age to enjoy.
We let my nephew have a go on Mario Kart. He just couldn't get it.
The only things he has ever played on are Ipad and Wii. He simply couldn't get it into his head that he needed to push buttons to steer rather than turn the controller.
We tried all sorts of ways to teach him and he eventually moved on to just holding left and go and going round in circles while turning the pad to the right.
The only way we eventually got anywhere was for his dad to hold the nephews hands still then it became go forward a bit turn a bit forward a bit turn a bit but it was taking a few secs a time for him to figure out which button to press to turn the way he wanted.
He is coming up to 5 years old and isn't a daft kid he just could not compute the buttons.

We found out Nintendo never imagined anyone could be that bad when they made the game as the race timer stopped at 09.59.99.

Had exactly the same thing with my niece and nephew, touch screen demons but were screwed when it came to the Snes joypads.

Nice, I think I'll wait for a few months until they iron the inevitable million and one bugs out before I invalidate my warranty!

How does Ki play on it?
It didn't emulate very well on Rpi when I tried it.

Fine from what I can tell.

It's only Streetfighter Alpha 2 and Super Street Fighter 2 which have failed for me so far.

Mate of mine was on holiday in Portugal last week and phoned me up to say he was in one of the supermarkets (jumbo) in Faro and they had 4 of them on the shelf so picked me one up.

He them messaged me an hour later saying they had them in stock at another shop as well (fnac a bit like HMV)

Seems like it's either not as popular over there or they had more stock than the UK.

Not as popular would be my guess. This website shows total gaming spend per country:

https://newzoo.com/insights/rankings/top-100-count...

If someone asked me out of the blue, i'd have said the countries with the biggest gaming culture were, in no particular order, America, the UK, Japan and South Korea.

I've no idea how accurate that websites figures are, but if you take their figures and calculate the per capita gaming spend per annum you get:

1. Japan $100
2. South Korea $82
3. USA $77
4. UK $64
5. Portugal $27

So my guess is it's just not popular in Portugal.

Mario Kart 150cc, anyone got 1st overall in all cups? Just struggled through the Star cup, my god the game can be frustrating! Addictive though biggrin

Yeah smashed em all in 150cc including special cup. The Donut plains first race in special cup is the worst.
But then I did spend like 2 years of my life playing that game so it's come back quite naturally. I have played it with a few people who had never played it before and they really can't get to grips with the unique handling

Can do it with any of them but it's easier with Yoshi or Mario.
If I use Donkey Kong then it's a case of scraping into 4th for that first race then winning the rest

Donkey Kong or Bowser are my characters of choice if I want to win.

It's all about mastering their weight and using it to your advantage, as their sheer bulk will knock smaller drivers out of the way. The key to success is correctly powersliding around bends with them as their weight again helps to maintain composure and a decent exit line.
