Just had a 10 minute go before going out... errr, it looks a bit st.

Brands Indy in the rain in a 944 and I'm a little disappointed.

99GB, I downloaded my standard edition yesterday. It took about an hour on a Virgin Media 200Mb connection.

Put a bit of time into it and either tune or find a tune.

Had a great series in a tuned b class forza edition brz earlier and doing a touring car series in a volvo polestar and its a hoot.

A few hours put in this evening, it’s fab as expected.

Gutted to discover hot lapping is basically gone though, I don’t think I’ve ever known that in a racing game. No class leaderboards, not even a quick way of just loading up a particular car/circuit and pounding round beating your own lap time. You can fudge free play mode or take part in the pre-defined Rivals challenges, but as somebody jumping in for the first time since FM4 I’m a little gutted that what normally is my bread and butter for long term play is gone.

Played it for a bit yesterday and it's great so far, much better than the demo.

The dynamic weather is good fun. As you can now extend the length of races in career mode I had a great 10 lap race in a Subaru BRZ. Race started dry, but by the end I was slithering round in a huge thunderstorm with rain pouring down. It was pretty intense!

As above though, it's a shame the hot lapping isn't in Rivals, I'm hoping it gets added at some point

Will it not just be off till the main release? They did something similar with 6 whee the binned everyones lap times.

Which ever one cost £79.99 but I got some xbox codes from CD keys and used remaining balance in my live account. 99gig i think it was.

Played a bit last night and the game looks excellent, cannot fault that. I am a little dissapointed with the sounds though but I am coming to this game from Assetto Corsa which for me had excellent sounds.

It is a good fun game and for me will be a pick it up and play racer whereas Assetto Corsa will be my sim racer of choice, setting up the car properly and trying to get my times down by a fraction of a second etc.

Got the ultimate edition, managed to download 19 GB overnight but I can play a bit. Looks great, although all I can seem to play is the demo and a few bits as the partly installed game sts a brick every time I try to do something.
And it seems everyones offline nemesis,M.Rossi, is a bird!!!!!

It's so tragic but not at all unexpected. Video game devs are some of the biggest affirmative action lefty liberals around. laugh

Mine still not here!!

Never again Game.

I had an email saying it was being despatched on 26th. Can you believe they send it Royal Mail untracked??

I've rang up and had an automated thing which went to put me through to an adviser then stated "Due to high call volumes I can't put you through, goodbye."

Absolute dog ste of the highest order.
Im mighty pissed off now.
This was got the ultimate edition. £80.

Unreal. Anyway apologies for rant. I've got bad man flu and was looking forward to a weekend on this.

I think I'll get a refund and buy standard version if it's not coming early.

Spent about 12 hours on it so far - yes I know I need to get a life! The game clearly needs some work and doesn't feel finished with laggy menus, cars flipping when changing assists etc but overall it's okay. It basically feels like Forza 6 with more and newer cars, weather which you can see to your liking in different places on the track, slightly improved physics and dramatically improved sound.

Glad to see they've brought back proper racing cars like the Ferrari F40 Comp and the F50 GT. For once they've made it harder to own lots of cars due to a Tier type level system which works quite well. Best part - Mugello, Suzuka and Maple Valley are back in the game!

My thoughts...

Very good overall, i use a g920 with the 6 speed box and it feels much better than Forza 6. As per my comments on the new F1 game, the loss of traction has more feel to it so then your chances to recover are better.
I love the harder way to get credits, the mix of races in each stage of the career is good, some tuned, some stock. In fact it’s had me so absorbed I haven’t even got round to free runs on other tracks yet. I have just finished the endurance race at Spa in the stock corvette and it was brilliant, the AI seems to vary in behaviour dependant on the cars being used so in the Spa race they really pushed for keeping the line into corners but seemed to back off a bit easier when in a road car.
The weather is now a great factor, only had a short race with it but it doesn’t just start and stop, it rains a few times and in the Silverstone race I did you only had sections with puddles and some without leaving you to concentrate rather more.
As others have said, I think hot lapping is a big miss at the moment but clearly they have more to open in the game as some sections are still locked.
Overall IMO it’s much improved, looking forward to getting on a long Le Mans race with all the new changes........

Game seemed to really really struggle this coming weekend, FM7, Fifa and Mini SNES all set to be out for Friday. No excuse really, anyone could see it would be busy a mile off. I was lucky and got my mine Friday, but it only dispatched 6:30pm Thursday.

Reading around the VIP is apparently a complete rip off since it's a temporary boost, and several cars are hidden behind loot boxes? They're also adding microtransactions in a later update, which I'm sure isn't because it means the launch reviews won't mention it.

Yup VIP is a rip off, I am pretty disappointed with it. T10 and Microsoft really dropped the ball, especially pre-release, it wasn't made clear VIP would be a temporary credit boost. They have only recently updated the store that shows VIP is a temporary boost (25 races worth), in response to the angry folk on the forums, Reddit, Twitter etc. The VIP race suits look pretty naff too, just a few different colours and VIP printed all over them..

OP here, just bought my copy earlier and took it home to install the game and 60gb while I'm at work.

Our Internet here is 4mb/s so hopefully it's all done by Friday. hehe

Is it better than Forza 6? From reading the reviews and what I've seen here it isn't a bad game but I can't recall seeing a direct comparison? I pretty much despised that game and I ended up trading it in for Horizon 3.
