It's been said before, but Forza really desperately needs some kind of penalty system like GT Sport. Multiplayer is too much of a crash fest to be properly enjoyable.

Having said that, a big part of the problem is idiots who can't drive properly trying to win the race in the first corner. In a three lap race there's very little time to make up places and people take stupid risks.

The best hopper by far is Endurance GT, since the races are on average 12-15 laps depending on track length, and over 20 minutes long. It gives the race much more time to settle and the driving standards are much better as people have the time to get into a groove. There's a good variety of cars to use, most of which are brilliant to drive and sound great. Plus there's a mandatory pitstop which makes things interesting. I pretty much exclusively play in this hopper now. Most of the ramming plebs stay away as they haven't got the patience for a 20 minute race

Some pics to help people forget about their gripes and to remind them how far this franchise has come and moved the genre on, in the past 10 years.

I’m really impressed with the Hyundai free car pack, suprisingly.

If the game is anything to go by the i30/Veloster N lives up to it’s reviews. It’s utterly sublime to drive... I tried my hand at making my own higher peformace version that is supposedly in the real life pipe line.

What I did....

AWD
Exhaust
Turbo
Flywheel

Stiffer ARBs front and rear
Race suspension
Uprated brakes
Weight reduction (obviously not -500lbs in real life, but I wanted to utilise the potential)

Clutch
Race Transmission (only to shorten the gear ratios a bit)
Driveline (carbon)
Diff

Slicks (for pretend racing, with fatter tires)
Team Dynamics F1

Front splitter

My results:
0-60 in 3.7 seconds or so
0-100 in 10.2 seconds (hehe thats 40 mph in an additional 6.6 seconds but it feels much quicker once i tuned the ratios)
>330 bhp
Top speed of 157mph (realistic)
A 700
65% rear bias

The cornering speeds are simply immense! 100mph+ round nearly every corner through the Nordschleife, flat, smooth cornering with the very occasional slip of the back end, and the turbo lag was solved with shorter gearing.

Forza 7 is a great game to play with your fantasies smile

Been Hammering the 'leagues' on multiplayer at the moment, but even with full crash damage on people just drive like absolute idiots and its carnage on the first corner and then limping round on the first lap to the pits..... frown

Really does need to be some sort of penalty for the players that do this.

If anyone wants some decent, clean racing, (and is on facebook)

Join the group 'WLR Forza 7 Racing'...

Run by a few good guys who have been around since forza 2. i joined mid december and have had had some great races. they do proper organised leagues aswell, like a mini cooper cup, lotus elise cup and have regular 'run what ya brung' d/c/b etc etc class races and homologation races too.

Best thing i did after getting sick of the crappy driving in the usual online hoppers.

Latest #forzathon challenges are out:

First one with the drift score I can't get to work despite fulling the criteria 3 times

Second one says do 5 miles on Bathurst, but it should be 5 laps

Third one says paint a car, but should be paint a car and share a photo

Well done Turn 10

Well done Turn 10
FFS Turn 10!

So that's why my dozen or so attempts at each of these have all failed!

I did manage to win myself the Ford Coupe. Although even for hot rods I didn't realise the weight reduction was this extreme...........

Well done Turn 10
FFS Turn 10!

I did two laps at Bathurst and it accepted that. But I can’t get it to register the other two.

So that's why my dozen or so attempts at each of these have all failed!

Is this worth picking up?

To be honest I didn't see much that wasn't available over and above Forza 6 so I never bothered. Same thing happened with Forza 5. I played 2, 3 and 4 to death then 5 didn't seem to bring much to the table that 4 didn't.

6 was great but just felt the same as 4...

The horizon games brought a nice change - worth it even for just exploring the maps. Rally races were a big plus point for me too.

Forza never seemed to agree with my Logitech G920 either, I got tired of messing around with the settings to try and get it to work realistically with Horizon 3 whereas Project Cars had an ideal set up out of the box - sadly not as good a game as Forza though!

Literally the reason I stopped playing, if you have it so you ghost other players people cheat by cutting corners/ across the grass.

Don't play FM7 at all now.

It's shame, because there is a lot of good things about FM7. The cars look, sound and drive superb, but there have been so many small decisions that don't make sense or are just crap. It all adds up and tarnishes the experience of what should and can be a superb racing game.

If Project Cars 2 weren't such a mess on console, then I wouldn't touch FM7 at all.

Getting hard for this.

I already have a seat and G920 steering wheel. Tomorrow I have a shiny new One X arriving, and shorty after that I will also have Forza 7. Will be playing on a 65” 4K OLED. So yeah...hard biggrin

Have enjoyed it so far - made a real difference removing the steering dead-zones on the controller (inner and outer), I'm much less likely to over-steer mid corner now.

Haven't had chance to play online yet - although I don't take multiplayer gaming too seriously anyway, but will give the GT endurance stuff a bash.

The game looks & sounds gorgeous. It's slow loading tracks, which is annoying, and I was a bit miffed that there's no hotlaps, but you can go into "rivals" and do timed laps. I'm absolutely balls at driving ovals apparently, I really struggle to endlessly sit behind another car!

Can any PC users tell me whether you can freely transfer the files to other computers?

As far as I know Microsoft encrypt the files and make you redownload it every single time which means they ain't getting a penny from me.
