I'm not sure that's true actually. From discussions on the forum I'm getting the impression that its easier with the controller. Definitely more lifelike with the wheel though and highly recommended.

I'm the best.

I'll maintain that I'm the best until someone gives me proof of a 'ring time faster than 5'19.427.

You have to do it yourself, no posting links to some Japanese kids sub 5min time.

I would agree with Anniesdad! On a comparison on the Le Mans Circuit i was 2 seconds faster with the pad but found wearing a Helmet and using a steering wheel much more involving.

Better still, map the throttle and brake control to the right analogue stick and the steering to the left analogue stick. This gives you much more precise control.

Have tried this - the problem I find that it's difficult to keep the right stick moving in a purely up-down motion - I tend to roll it to one side which makes things a bit tricky. Would be nice if you could "lock" that stick so it was more like the forward / reverse stick on a radio control car.

erm...... this is the default setting on my game (Left stick steering, right stick throttle brake). Why do you need to change to it?

No diesel S-type unfortunately, but it does have the S-type R. Maybe I could detune it and see what time I can get!

My advice would be to go and start racing with the licences you already have - get some practice on the tracks and in some races (sunday cup, clubman cup, etc). A lot of the licences are easier once you know the tracks better. Once you've done all you can without the i-B or i-A licence - then go back and I'm sure you'll find them easier.

Your advice worked wonders. I took my Lupo racing and won a couple, bought an RX-7 and won a few more and then when I went back to the licences I stormed my way through them. Cheers.

I can't seem to complete the last event in the professional hall. (The ten race series) Everytime I enter I get owned by Group C cars. The quickest thing I've got is the CLK GTR Le Mans car, but its not in the same league as the Nissan's etc.

Any ideas on the vehicle of choice for this event. I'm 30% into the game as I've done a couple of endurance events but i want to get into the Extreme hall too.

If you can afford it, you could buy an Audi R8 but it costs 4,500,000Cr. Alternatively you could B-spec the nurburgring 24 hour endurance race in your clk-gtr and win the F1 car which will do the job.

I would agree with 8. I raced the European Championship and kept selling the XJ220 race car until i had enough money to buy the Audi R8 which will paiste the opposition in that last Professional league.

i found the licences easy apart from a couple on the super.

one or two of the driving missions is a bit tough(gtr slipstream sucks) and a couple of the rally races are hard.

You can actually cheat on this course. Say you have a left hand corner coming up. Simply drift over to the right so you are touching the edge of the track. As you approach the corner don't slow down and the edge of the track will guide you round meaning you don't have to slow down. Use this for every corner of the track and you can steam round easily beating the CPU every time.

Without wishing to stray too far off topic, just how the hell do you do this one? It's got me completely beaten.

Back on topic, I've completed about 19%, got 12 Gold, 44 Silver and the rest Bronze on the licenses (after some effort though, I don't mind admitting!), and try to keep the races at at least 100 A-Spec points. Have had to drop as low as 6 though, and even then only just won when I came up against the Cobra in the Classic Cars!

I pulled up behind the pack, got bumper to bumper with one car and pushed the thing all round the track. Then on the last corner just before he braked (why they brake I do not know) I popped out from behind and carried the extra speed through the corner. About half way round I was slowing and throught it was over, but I caught the slipstream from the lead car and started picking up speed. Managed to clear the line about .7 seconds in the lead.

Felt like I was cheating a little, but I'll be dammned if I could figure out another way to beat it!

i found that getting a good tow of the pack helped me carry about 1/2 mph more than normal...but it only helped me gain about .7 a lap on the lead car.

ill try your method though.

So it's worth staying behind the pack then? I find I can blast past all but one of them on the first corner while the other guy drives off into the distace. I can get to withing three seconds of him having left the pack behind, but no closer.

I have wondered about staying behind them and trying to get them to slipstream one another to go faster, but since they never got any closer to me once I'd passed them I guessed they probably wouldn't...
