Good to see a developer doing proper research and finding this thread.

amongst the gripes, I think the gameplay and presentation is very slick.

A recent observation by me is that in multi-player games, I can be paired against someone with a lower score than me but that have the quickest cars which give me no chance at all.

E.g. My score has recently dropped to 1981. This morning I was paired against someone with a score of 1485. All their cars wiped the floor with me - I didn’t even race as I knew my score would just keep slipping.

And yet, yesterday, I had 5x5 multiplayer races with opponents with higher scores but me winning outright every time.

Consistency seems lacking.

speed bumps, cars have different ride heights so some slow over them more than others.

I'm finding this more addictive than it should be given its basically the same thing over and over again!

It's difficult to build up cash (then easy to blow it all on minor upgrades) but I guess they need to make "real" money somehow!

That is annoying, but there's no penalty for doing the race again.

Or doing it 5x in a row to get all the cards!

Thanks for commenting on here, Hutch. Is there any chance of removing the servicing part of your game? It gets a bit frustrating when I have to stop playing because I can't use my cars again.

I hate to break it to you, but your interest will falter. I’ve been stuck at 70% progress on single player for a couple of weeks now - just can’t move on without probably spending real money. Multiplayer I just can’t win anymore, I’m probably winning 2 out of 10 races.

Update out. The change to multiplayer is most welcome, think this’ll get me hooked again. I can start earning more cards, which I can us to work towards my single player progress.

I was hooked and played for a couple of days solid but now stuck on around 60% and progresses has stopped for me too.

Most of my cars are high 4s 0-60 and 150ish mph but am needing super cars now to stand a chance, and I don't have cars capable of winning them.

Has anyone else noticed some of the inconsistencies between the car picture and model?

For example -

Focus ST 170 - its a picture of a Mk2 Focus ST (ST225)
Focus - Same picture of a Mk2 ST
Audi S6 - picture of the C6 but its got the stats for a C5 (bhp @ 350 instead of 435 etc

I agree, but remember - this is a free game which is designed to frustrate you into buying things from it. You can insta-service your cars by paying gold, and there will be plenty of people out there who buy gold just to quickly carry on playing. I admit I spent just shy of £4 to buy gold so I could try and get a decent two-seat sports car (of the five in the pack, only one was worth keeping), so there will be plenty more out there regularly ploughing money into it in the quest for top notch cars.

I'm still enjoying this game, but with only a few "missions" left I'm reaching a point where progress is slowing, as everything I'm going up against is either significantly better than what I have, or I'm just not scoring enough points to get the full three stars per race session.

I gave up after USA and the 1 mile drag race vs. the Colarado SS I think. It beats me by 400+ every time (and I cant even DNF to get the standard 250 loss). Nothing I have comes even close, so I used my gold to buy an offroad pack and got 4 french city cars and a Ford Escort....

In which world are a Citroen C4 etc an offroad car?

I bought the recent BMW pack offer. Apparently it should have one 'rare' BMW - what did I get? 325i - I've had several through playing the game.

To be transparent, It's one of the game mechanics that helps us to pay the rent. We try to keep things fair by offering convenience / shortcuts to players who are willing to pay for it.

We just launched a new update with Suzuki coming into the game. There will be another update in the next few weeks with a big batch of pretty sweet cars being dropped into the game. We are also working on new ladders and campaign content but I don't have a go-live date for this content yet. We want to keep developing the body of content in the game to keep it interesting for a longer period.

That drag race slayed me every time for a while. The DNF is also a bit confusing, we changed the messaging on this to make it a bit clearer in the last update.
Also the packs can be a bit unclear at times. Here's the drop rates on the offroad pack:

Often the best strat at this stage is to go back and farm the early campaigns and clean out the prize boards. You can pick up some decent cars, increase RQ and gather the cash needed to upgrade existing best cards. A little bit grindy admittedly, but effective.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply, and maybe as a Pistonheader I expect too much as our car knowledge might be more than the average Joe... but I received essentially 4 saloon/hatch cars, which could or could not have been 4x4 (as per the drop rate, I didnt check). In my mind, having a car capable of 4x4 isn't what I would class as "off road", especially as 4x4 doesnt give much advantage on the offroad tracks and you really need offroad tyres to compete

I'm enjoying this but I have to say Monaco 10 seems nigh on impossible! I can 3 star most of the other Monaco races but currently have no chance of winning Monaco 10.

I guess I'll go back to grinding out all the cards from previous races.
