That's because all of the new games are st.
What he said. I flogged my ps4 last year and bought a ps1 & ps2 from Gumtree. Still don't play as much as I used too but I'm far less likely to launch a controller through the TV when I do play now.

Was feeling the same then stumbled on Rocket League. Must have spent more than 30hrs on that now!

Me and my mate did a 4 hour supreme commander skirmish last night (finished late, paying for it today..) and it was great fun.
We are hoping to do divinity original sin 2 next Saturday; the time is booked in at anyrate.

Games where you can pick up and play a storyline for a few hours before saving and coming back i am enjoying for their flexibility.
Something like a MMO or an arena shooter I can't manage the time investment, and frankly have no interest.

Also, regular reminder to buy life is strange if you haven't. Really can't recommend it enough; first season is about ten hours total and it's broken into 5 episodes so easily manageable in bursts.

I was the same but a mate lent me Fallout 4. It's almost like a work assignment, but I've got to finish it.

I gave up on that after about 30 or so hours inthink. Had a few settlements, upgrade stuff and explored quite a lot of the map. Couldn't see anything new happening so thought that it was enough.

I agree! Uncharted II is amazing.

I find that as I have limited time I have gone retro. I think C&C is no Freeware / Abandonware and Transport Tycoon is downloadable too.

I play these from time to time as its more about "how can I have a very nice 45-90mins on a computer" instead of "what latest game do I need to progress on"

I even watch people on things like Euro Truck Sim II and the like instead of playing which is weird but sometimes a funny way of finding 20mins of something to fall asleep to on YouTube etc

Back in the late 90's I was pretty up to date with computing, built my own PC, and regular gaming sessions would last hours. But when I reached my mid-late 20's I started to lose interest and didn't keep up with the changes. I guess at the time I had more work commitments/responsibility, got married, etc, etc, so my priorities changed. So the upshot is there's probably a period between about 2005-2015 where I have very little awareness of gaming. And in that time a lot has changed (ie. shift to online/MMO's/etc)

A couple of years ago I decided to get back into it, had the money to buy a reasonably decent set-up. Trouble is things have changed, I've struggled to get back into it and have the same issues as the OP. Nothing holds my interest for long. I'm only a fraction of the way into Fallout 3, Deus Ex HR, GTA 4, GTA 5 (I lost my progress on 4 so bought 5 instead). I have Civ 5 but get bored before completing a game. I've tried a few MMORPG's but most seem to be some sort of dungeons and dragons style thing which doesn't really interest me. I've played DayZ but it's not as fun as the youtube videos. PUBG is enjoyable in short bursts, but I'm not too good (my top 10 finishes are more down to luck/hiding than skill).

One of the games I've played most is The Division, and I really don't know why. I think I was drawn in by the premise, and how good it looked. The plot started ok, but then it became a repetitive grind fest, with the later end of level bosses strong enough to withstand a small thermonuclear explosion. banghead

Sounds like they're trying to make it even more interactive.

For me, I prefer the good old days when they just didn't bother with all that stuff and let me play the game without having to think too much.

I was playing BF3's campaign mode the other day for the second time. I still don't really know what is going on. Why am I playing Blackman one minute then a woman co-piloting a plane the next minute and then I'm being called Dmitri??? I just want to shoot things!!

CEX is asking strong prices - some were £100! Didn't get a chance to take a photo in store.
SNES cartridges go for good money also.

Good lord. If the OP is where I think he is in his gaming lifecycle I suspect this would be the final nail the coffin!

TN, by all means take hiatus OR joins us for squads on PUBG - will be this eve...

I was in the same spot as the OP earlier this year - felt a bit burnt out by the treadmill of Battlefields, Forzas and so on, and Rocket League just lost its sheen.

So I changed things completely and tried something new - bought my first ever Nintendo (which I'd previously shunned as having kids' games that I never played as a kid) - a Switch. And I bought my first ever Zelda, a franchise I knew very little about. Took my new Nintendo on the work ski trip with me and rediscovered games through one of the most perfectly crafted adventures, taking it in in snatched moments on planes and it hotel rooms. I've since jumped in to other new franchises (to me!). Mario Kart, Binding of Isaac and other things. I've rediscovered the reason I loved games as a kid - not for the outright technical wow factor, but for lovingly designed games, local multiplayer and being able to play wherever I go.

It's since made me realise that all the big franchises I yearned for on my Xbox are fine and enjoyable, but just nothing new.

You're unlikely to lose money selling a Switch on if you don't like it, so why not try it? I was its biggest cynic and it's improved my gaming happiness!

It's mostly rare titles. Chaos Break, for example. Never heard of it, let alone played.
Prices depend on the condition also. I recall PSOne discs were awfully easy to scratch.

That's not new though is it. That's just another FPS with microtransactions.

Wow. That's a pretty awful game, too - I just googled it.

age comes into play I think. I've got to really like a game these days but they take me ages to progress through. Mafia 3 took me best part of this year. Just got GTA5 again, played it before on 360, now on xbox one and not liking it as much as I remembered.

Like an earlier guy said, I've got a driving rig and use that on Forza a fair bit but it is like virtual trackdays!
