Not enjoying games recently...time for self imposed hiatus?
Discussion
I still play COD BO2 on the PS3 online sometimes, it's difficult playing it for an hour every few weeks as typically i'll just get destroyed but it's still a fun game and the peak of the COD series IMO.
I recently picked up an XBOX One, a thrustmaster steering wheel and Assetto Corsa, absolutely love it and find it genuinely exciting to play. I've ordered an XBOX One X but that's mainly so I can play more sim games like this but with 4K to make the most of my TV
I really can't be bothered with the likes of Far Cry etc anymore as there's just too much boring crap (crafting?) and not enough doing fun stuff

I find myself not playing nearly as much as I used to either.
Slightly ashamed to admit I also haven't really read all the posts in here in full but I'd echo the comments about modern gaming not being what it used to be. For me as a 40 year old male, I think the things I loved about gaming when I was a kid and in early adulthood are probably not found so much in modern games; they just cater to a different generation. The big titles generally don't interest me, I don't particularly enjoy gaming online (because assholes, mostly) and I just don't have the same free time and energy I had before marriage and kids etc.
One thing I would suggest to the OP and others in the same situation is to maybe go and try and style of game you haven't already, or have a dig through some of the Indie titles on Steam. I'm not normally into puzzle games but I loved RIME. Been enjoying Volume, Limbo and a couple of other indie titles on Steam lately as well.
Could just be time for a change, rather than a rest.
