Yay finally got my first solo win.
No shots fired. No damage taken. Sat in a golf kart whole time doing the atk challenge and also the daily top 25 solo challenge. Got lucky that the other 2 were pre occupied when the storm moved.

I managed a second place without even picking up a weapon, or anything else. Building nothing, doing nothing, just stealth from start to finish. Didn't even have the TV sound on.
Best of all, I self-terminated. Knew I couldn't win, didn't want the winner to have the satisfaction.

I play Fortnite to land Tilted and kill as many people as possible.
When I play PUBG I play it to stealth up and snipe at people.
It’s far more intense on PUBG as well.

Still getting issues with lag on PS4. Often I’m shot and it glitches as I’m shot.
Won 6 solos now though in total.
Pretty sure lag is unavoidable on games with this many people playing at once with the current technology. With Fortnite it's very noticeable if you drop into a crowded area just off the bus. I find sometimes it works for you and you seem to be bulletproof and sometimes it works against you and your headshots mysteriously miss.Won 6 solos now though in total.
Congrats on the wins!

My 8 year old loves this and has had me buy him about £25 of VBucks for skins/emotes. Epic are making over $300m a month from it!
I just can't see the appeal myself. Wander about for 15 minutes collecting stuff then get killed by a far more skillful player.
Try playing with your son and/or his mates in a squad of 4 and then tag along until you get better.I just can't see the appeal myself. Wander about for 15 minutes collecting stuff then get killed by a far more skillful player.
If you like multi player first person shooters, it really is quite addictive, despite seeming very simple on the face of it.
Just a quick bump from me on this one.
I'm still really enjoying the game, but I have to stick with stealthy play because I have absolutely no chance against most other players. But... and this reflects on one of my earlier comments, how can people be this good?
A few examples:
1 - People seem to appear from nowhere and kill me dead.
2 - People seem to have astonishing accuracy from huge distances, killing me with one shot, even if I have full green and blue bars. Conversely if I'm shooting at someone it seems to take lots of hits, they still don't die, and then they kill me with just one.
3 - Building stuff. I absolutely cannot build structures at anything like the speed others do. I've seen towers of three or four floors, with walls, floors and roofs go up in just a second or two. Doesn't seem right.
I'm playing on Xbox One S and I think the only other people in the same game are on the same platform. If I were up against PC players I might assume there was some cheating/hacking taking place, but this can't happen on Xbox can it?

1. If you play stealthily, surely you have killed people before now without them ever seeing you? If not, be aware that there are quite a few ways for other players to become airborne and travel long distances quickly at the moment, so they're probably dropping in from the air behind you.I'm still really enjoying the game, but I have to stick with stealthy play because I have absolutely no chance against most other players. 2. With a lot of weapons, you reduce "bloom" (bullet inaccuracy) by standing still for a couple of seconds before shooting. If you attempt to run whilst shooting, your accuracy goes down. Also, different weapons are effective at different ranges. You can kill people very quickly or even instantly if you use the right weapon at the right range.
3. There's a controller set up called "builder pro" that was released a while back that facilities very quick building. I haven't used it yet, but the people who are building massive towers in a few seconds are.

I watch open jawed at the speed my lads (12 & 9) whip up useful fortifications. No hacking, just good old fashioned wasted time at the consoles.
Stupid game.

Was playing with a old CoD buddy of mine last night on fornite along with his 8yr old and cousin. you wouldn't believe how mad the kids went after we won. turned out it was their first ever win (on any mode) since fornite came out!
The great thing about your first win is that you get two unique "umbrellas" which you can equip in game and they tell everyone else that you've won a game.Very exciting when you first manage it!

Crouching helps too.I've been playing since mid-October 2017 and it took 9 months to the start of Season 5 on 12 July to get 19 wins.
Two months later I'm on 38 wins, definite progression. I've recently found a reasonable bunch of squad/duo mates with similar play styles has helped massively.
Season 5 - 7% win rate from 270 games.
Season 4 - 1.85% win rate from 265 games
Season 3 - 2.1% win rate from 235 games.
