Just so - I used to play team rumble exclusively as otherwise I had no fun. At least in the rumble you can die and keep playing! biggrin

With the new ranked matches I’m with people as hopeless as me, which makes it a little more worthwhile.
I used to also play TR only however this season I find I’m useless at it and have been getting multiple wins in duos and a couple of solo wins. Whatever they’ve done for them modes it’s really got me hooked again.

Same here. TR has been nerfed but I'm loving solo. I've played almost every day. Still havent spent a single penny on it.

Really helps to have a sniper rifle in this game now, with long sight lines over hills etc, got 4 Victory Royales yesterday, that's four more than the last month or so, lol.

Yeah, the new zip lines can be quite useful, fishing can be good fun too, leaves you vulnerable to attack if someone is quiet though. Like I said, sniper rifles can be lethal on the new map way more than before, with such open expanses and lots of hills.
Yeah plenty of the bolt action rifles, but a lot of Uncommon rarity. I heard you can find machines to trade materials to upgrade. Not found one yet. I like the Epic heavy sniper you could take people out from 250m+ away. I haven't even ventured into the really hilly bit but I bet that would be good for sniping.

I can't get the hang of fishing. Can't catch a fish, cant hook a weapon. I was trying to hook a weapon from the roof of one building, was there ages, eventually someone took a pot shot at me, luckily they missed.
I by accident after the last or so update hooked items with the fishing rod, so you can now use it to grab ammo and weapons etc from some distance away, without having to actually go over to it if its out in the open etc.

Well, a week or so later, and I am HOOKED! biggrin

Hilarious playing in a squad with my nephews, (12 and 8) - they're very good at the game, but have me teaching me the building aspect. I've paid some monety for the pass and bought a skin and some emotes; it's all good fun. Happy playing squads or BR, the later being my go to for mindless fun.

I've now found fun with tactical shot guns and sniper rifles. Still useless, but enjoying it.

I am up to 4 VRs now. Quite often make the mistake of underestimating an enemy though and losing. I am crap at close quarters stuff. Sniper / AR battle at distance and I usually win, its when they corner me in a building or ramp rush me I usually lose. I am up to Level 92 now. Having a couple of supercharged weekends as helped. Should hit 100 when this weeks challenges are out.

Some of this weeks challenges were squad based. Quite enjoyed that. You need a slightly different way to approach the game. If you engage someone, there is usually their squad mates nearby that counter. In one game there were three squads all going at each other and shooting coming from all directions

(For some bizarre reason, popped up in news feed), that some pro player's been caught using an aimbot in public game.

Makes you wonder how many other youtube stars earning lot of money arent as good as they say they sar really doesn't it

If you dive into that story, he was openly using it to create content on YouTube and simultaneously complain to Epic about how easy it was to mod an aimbot on PC.

He wasn’t a pro either, just a content creator. If someone’s using aimbot you’d know it, it’d be really obvious in a game like Fortnite.

I'm in the wrong game, should become content creator using cheats for epic skills and become a millionaire.

I doubt this was his first time using it, just the first time being caught out.

There is definitely something not quite right with the matchmaking system. Endgame is starting to feel like the last round of the world champs and I’m a very very very long way from playing at that level.

To me it seems to adapt as you go but VRs push up a lot. I got 2 VRs within a couple of days, suddenly I was getting beaten all the time, couldn't even get close to a closing game. It then seemed to adjust and I was back up against more equal players. Yesterday I got a 2nd place and narrowly missed the win.

I think as well there is luck/chance. The initial kick off can see yourself wiped out either by a good player who landed close by or a rubbish one with pot luck.

Baby sat my nephew last weekend and watched him play this. Queue a week later and I'm level 11 and quite enjoying it. Rubbish and building - think I need some offline practise - but loving the squad BR and the 50 on 50 mode. Hilarious. Not really approaching anything tactically; if I can get an AR and a submachine gun, I'm OK at mid-range. One a squad BR so was quite chuffed at that. Now keep looking at the season pass and skins!

if I get the pass and bump up 25 levels, does that mean I'll start playing with people are are level 36 and thus much better than me, or is it cleverer to go on your play record to match up better?
...and today I sit at level 16x, have had huge fun playing alongside my 8 year old nephew playing squads, duos, doing all the alter-ego challenges. Great fun. I don't really enjoy playing on my own, but if he's online we have great e-uncle/nephew time. I'll probably have a bit of a lull until the new season starts. I've no won a solo or duo, but squads, when working together, is fun to win.

It is good fun playing in squads. I play Battle Royale squads with my 7 and 11 year old lads. 11 year old on the PS4, 7 year old on the PC with controller and me relegated to my phone.

The PS4 account is at around level 80, the PC account is at level 40 something and my phone account is at 14 I think. smile

I occasionally play on my own (on the PC) when they've gone to bed but it's a lot more fun with all three of us in the same room shouting instructions at each other. I need to get a third system that can run fortnite so I don't have to play on my phone. Might be time for a Nintendo Switch...

I like to call it e-babysitting. I also play fortnite with my 7 year old nephew. He teaches me to play and when he’s not online I complete the challenges. Occasionally have to involve his friends if needing a group challenge completed.

My kids arent interested in video games at all really. They play a bit of Roblox but not much.

I like playing on my own. Do my own thing.

I've clearly been playing too much. I'm on level 201. A few victories. A st tonne of top 5 now though. Still suck at close quarters stuff.

Major update this week. Lots of snow, some new landmarks and buildings , presents and sneaky snowmen are back, new weapon snowball launcher. Seems more legendary and epic weapons available as well.

Lot of people complaining that they have buggered building edits but I couldn't notice anything.

I've got 7 wins now on solo, 2 in the last two days.
