Richard Burns Rally. I think its more to do with me not quite being prepared for anything that much of a sim having been brought up on much more arcade games, and it took forever to load anything
Any Command and Conquer game. Played the demo, thought it was boring as hell then everyone went mental about it being amazing didn't get it.
FIFA Got it bundled with my Xbox One. I used to play I think it was something like Addidas Power Soccer back in PS1 days and had a lot of fun with it so thought I would give FIFA a chance, way too complicated especially for someone who just isn't into football.
Final Fantasy or any turn based thing. Bores me to tears. I have a SNES Mini and Am trying to get through it and Mario RPG and its driving me mental. Its more of a slightly interactive story than a proper game.
I think possibly my biggest disappointment was Gran Turismo 5. I had been a PS fanboy and had all the GT series and loved them. Was getting bored in the interval between GT4 and GT5 and just happened to be playing Forza at a mates house and thought it was pretty good so got myself an Xbox and Forza 2 and have never gone back to a playstation. My bro in law had a PS3 and he loaned it to me so I bought a copy of GT5 got all excited then played it and after cant remember if it was Forza 2 or 3 at that point but GT5 was just rubbish. tried persevering for a couple of days but just binned it off as a waste of time.

Witcher 3 was on my mind before I'd even opened the thread. Horrible bloated game. Vaguely pretty graphics that don't hold up throughout the entire game as they can be quite jerky when there's a lot of action on screen - inexcusable on a games console! It's supposed to be an RPG but there's hardly any choice of character path or appearance. The jokes are flat and the 'nudity' is crass although maybe fun if you're 11.

its one of those games that needs to be played on a decent pc,a console is not up to it based on what you just said.It looks glorious on a decent pc.franki68 said:

I don't doubt that it could/would look better on a top-end gaming PC - but it's a sign of lazy/bad game design if you don't optimise it to run 100% smoothly on a console. The whole point of consoles vs PC is that the developers have a standardised environment and know exactly what they have to work with - if they don't realise that there is epic frame drop in pivotal moments in the game when there is a lot going on then they presumably haven't tested the game fully, or simply don't care. It would be a simple enough matter to cap the maximum number of enemies that appear or in the areas where epic battles take place, reduce the number of superfluous objects, temporarily drop the draw distance, reduce the detail level etc etc - in short, optimise the game so that the immersion isn't broken every time things get busy. I was a HUGE COD4 player back in the day on the PS3. Could play for 24 hours straight on that in team deathmatch mode no problems at all. Then came along World at War and MW2 and all the other spin-offs which were all a huge steaming pile of st in comparison and I just couldn't get into any of them.
Going a bit left field - Ark Survival Evolved got rave reviews everywhere but despite my best efforts I just couldn't get into it. I couldn't even manage to kill one of those basic dilo things without dying over and over.
There was a zombie game on steam which also got good reviews which I forget the name of now, but loads of YT streamers were into it a couple of years back. Looked like my sort of thing but couldn't get into that for more than a few hours either.
One game I never seem to get bored of for long and always come back to is Minecraft . So much fun to be had and different options for play style - modded servers, PVP servers, creative servers, towny/factions/role-play servers. Pretty much something for everyone

Resident Evil 4
Bought it three times on three different platforms, beat it multiple times on those platforms. It wasn't bad, but I never got the same buzz from it that everyone else seemed to. I was always waiting for the moment when it all fell into place, a moment that never arrived.
The Last of Us
Beautiful looking game, but simply didn't gel with it. Tried the HD remaster on PS4, and once again couldn't get on with it.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion - completed the main storyline but could never get immersed in it or just want to keep exploring in the same way I do in Fallout. Didn't help they seemingly had 3 actors to voice every single minor character either.
Gears of War 4 - loved the first 3 but this just felt like more of the same, horde classes were a nice idea but made playing public matches impossible and those accursed loot boxes just turned multiplayer into a dull grind.
Dead Rising - everyone else seemingly loved it, the terrible controls and save system drove me mad
Star Wars KOTOR - thought I'd love it, but never gripped me. Keep meaning to try it again someday

Another non fan if Witcher 3. Just didn't appeal to me from the opening cut scenes, don't know why as I liked Anytime. Lost it when the hard drive died, haven't bothered to reinstall, but may do some day, although it will take 2 days as it's 60 gig+! Same with Fallout 4, only a few hours played.
I think you have to play these sort of games for a few hours to get into them, but I don't have time.
On the other hand,400+ hours of TF2,200+ of PUBG,my current obsession.
Used to play loads of FSX, had hundreds of planes and scenery add one, just don't feel like it now... probably again due to time restraints.

If you own Witcher 3 and didn't get into it, please please give it another go.
I'm 41 and have been a gamer since Acorn Electron days, I do prefer an open world game, but I like sports and driving and all games.
Witcher 3 is the most amazing game I've ever played.
I'm 150+ hours in.
Just think about that, I paid £20 for it with the DLC.
It's perhaps the most complex, amusing and thoughtful product I've devoted any time to. I enjoy it more than my favourite album, favourite book and favourite child
But it's different for everyone, that much is for sure

I might give it another go at some stage, there are too many good reviews that there has to be a very good game if you persevere with it.I'm 41 and have been a gamer since Acorn Electron days, I do prefer an open world game, but I like sports and driving and all games.

Fallout 4 for me tbh
Never really gelled with it.
I found Fallout 4 was OK - but really just more of the same as Fallout 3. When first playing 3 it felt new and fresh. 4 Had a few tweaks to the gameplay but by and large didn't bring too much new stuff to the table. 3 had areas where playing through them in different ways could really alter the way things panned out later; 4 felt way more linear. And of course the fact that so many graphics assets and so forth were re-used meant that the joy of discovering new stuff was lessened. Never really gelled with it.

All online FPS games for me, just cannot see the attraction. Capture flag, lose flag, repeat ad infinitum
Mildly more intellectual than Candy Crush I guess
I think Candy Crush is probably more intellectually demanding than the sort of FPS you describe. I say that as someone who loves the Battlefield series. It's just a bit of fun, run around, shoot people, out manoeuvre them with reflexes and technique (ie mouse/keyboard coordination).Mildly more intellectual than Candy Crush I guess
