Got my copy today. 35GB update ...... But had an hour online, good fun as expected. Basically BF 1 but improved IMHO.

It's been a bit glitchy for me today, crashes to a blue screen, weird jerky vehicle behaviour and spawning me on flags in a big huddle of players that don't seen to actually be playing.

It's not really clicking for me currently, I don't like all the "rewards", weapon skins that you have to apply in parts, constant little dots implying something can be upgraded or has been unlocked... I'm sure I'll get used to it all but for now I'm not thrilled.

You're not the only one. Likely they'll add an 'Apply all skins to weapon' button so you don't need to do them all individually.

Kind of.. But with a few improvements to the gameplay IMHO (such as squad revive and ammo dumps). Either way, it is fine by me biggrin

Got to be honest but im not a fan.

I think if they reintroduced spotting then it would be better but so many people just sitting in corners waiting, plus it seems that i can be insta dropped yet plough rounds into people and get fk all. Does make it look like theyve pander to the people with st pings/connection again as BF1 was never like it.

This review is very off putting for me. My main role in BF1 was as a medic and the lack of spotting also puts me off.

I spent most of last night spotting with the recon class, only because you have about 6 bullets though.

I got kicked back to a blue error screen (PS4) a couple of times last night which is frustrating. I have been playing BF since the beginning and i don't ever remember this many glitches on launch.

Anybody played it who can comment on the hit boxes?

I was watching a twitch channel last night and the guy was frontline sniping. It looked like he wasn't really aiming accurately but sweeping the cross hairs in the general direction of the enemy. Getting plenty of headshots using this technique too.

Is there bullet drop in game?

There is considerable bullet drop, i wouldn't say the hit boxes are more noticeable/larger than usual BF games.

It seems the hackers are already out in force on the PC side of things but on PS4 I haven't noticed sniping being easier, if anything I'm currently struggling to get the head shots and the fact they have turned the damage down means a quick swap to a sidearm isn't the guaranteed kills it once was.

Bullet drop is huge and hard to gauge as the sights aren't the best at this point in the game, hopefully things will improve in time when you can actually see where the bullets are ending up.

I'm still not as excited about it as I have been on previous games, if anything I'm little bit bored with it already, that said I still haven't got over not being able to play Karkand 24/7 so I'm probably not the best target.

Yeah im not sure about the longevity of it for me, as find its pandering to those with st internets. IM still hitting people with half a mag or so and then get dropped instantly, its st though there was only a few 100+ pings in the game so im guessing the ME havent received the game yet lol. Either that or people just hiding in the corners waiting.

Regarding sniping, was playing with someone last night, on chat etc, he was head shot after head shot with the sniper rifle, think he went 27-0 or something like that.

Flying is very reminiscent of War Thunder though the customising and upgrading things is a pain in the arse. Its also alot different to BF1 in which i was quite handy vs someone else i know who was st, yet in this its role reversal

Hacking is such a strange thing. You are getting pleasure out of ruining others gaming time. Bizarre.

And the RPGs and grenades etc also have a fair old rate of drop...

I'm enjoying it. It plays a bit different to 1, the gunplay is good, it's more important to stick with your squad and people do seem to he getting that. Not everyone has got the revive thig yet but id say more than usual are. Spotting is different but not worse, it encourages you to be a bit more thoughtful.

Yup, if only snipers would actually spot !! (my gripe since Bad Company really!)

But being able to build an ammo store when you take a base etc then load up is great, a quick "self medicate" etc makes it a few improvements. And last night I discovered you can customise the soldier, the outfit, face etc..

I'd love it if DICE released the stats of what % of people went straight in and changed their solders from the default female to a male character. (Im guessing a pretty high %)

I played for the first time properly last night, predictably got my ass handed to me as didn't know the maps like folks that have been playing them for a while. Did seem like something was off when I can plough half a mag of my Support LMG into someone only for them to turn around and kill me with one shot...

PC masterrace - how are you finding graphical performance vs BF1? I have an aging CPU (i7 2600k) and a reasonable GPU (R9 390X) playing at 3400 x 1440 and seems to be running a bit slower than BF1.
What are the recommended things to switch off/tone-down in the graphics settings to speed FPS up while keeping it looking nice?
Does motion blur use or improve performance?
Ive already switched off the 4 post-processing effects in the main graphics page.

I'm a serial spotter but BFV makes this much less likely to happen as you're effectively choosing between being a sniper with a gun getting kills or just someone on a hill with a monocular, it takes an age to swap between the two so you're basically just a glorified CCTV system rather than someone with a gun (that has a scope as good as the monocular) that can spot at the same time, try and kill the person and then if you miss have a team mate be able to have a go.

When you are in spotting mode you can just sweep around and it picks hidden people up, at least with the old system you had to actually have an inkling where someone might be and then spot.

Got an amazon credit card with a gift voucher and discount card, so managed to get it for £12. I'm a huge BF fan, so even if it's a bit cack, I'm certainly not complaining at that price 😁
