That's how it was in BF2... the first BF game I played. You had to fly over your landing strip a couple of times to restock bombs (rather than actually land).

What I also loved was being able to get to their bases as Spec Ops and placing C4 charges on their planes before they took off. Ahh, happy days!

You got repaired too IIRC.

For me I'd be more than happy for them to just remake BF2 with modern graphics, it was my favourite.

Not sold on V yet so no pre-order, will probably wait to see the beta before I commit.

Floating mines outside the titan on 2142 was a lot of fun too.

And Gulf of Oman was the map I played the most on BF3.

October release date, 19th for standard, 16th for deluxe so September seems about right for the Beta, maybe even August.

You can also earn weapons, uniforms and other stuff for BFV by playing BF1 after pre-ordering.

It was a foregone conclusion that I would pre-order this. But now I am even keener to do so!

I'm thinkin of pre-ordering this (despite my views against pre-orders).

I was a big BF fan through 2-4, but never played 1 as I didn't like the changes made. This setting looks a bit more to my taste, but think I still need to see some actual gameplay before I make my decision.

I really hope it is good though as I used to love my nights playing BF3 & 4 with the PH lot.

I quite liked 1 but 4 is my favourite my miles.

To me, 5 looks just like 1 but in ww2.

I skipped BF4 - eventually bought it cheap, but saw no compelling reason to jump from BF3.

I like the WW2 idea - I still have very fond memories of CoD United Offensive; back before CoD became the killstreak instagib twitchfest it seems to be today (not knocking that btw - just not my thing.)

Only just seen the trailer. Perhaps some sort of alternate history thing going on? Not a bad idea if so, something a bit different. They've upset an awful lot of geeks though hehe But as I recall the reaction to the BF1 trailer wasn't great either.

Also vehicles having to go to a spawn point to reload, or having supply trucks
Jets used to have to fly over their home airfield to reload and rearm in BF2. I guess they felt it too difficult to understand for console owners as BF3 dropped it and it hasn't been back. In fact most maps don't even have an airfield anymore.

I’m finding the Multiplayer gameplay footage released yesterday deeply frustrating. It looks great but the sponsored nature means the you tubers doing the videos are giving no editorial review. Of course it will come in time but in my view just badly undermines their credibility and means I get suspicious.

£80 if you want the fancy version.

I note all the usual YouTuber types are already happily playing BFV and posting lovely videos of how much fun they are having - I guess the rest of us will just have to wait until October.

There better not be any bugs!

That is the cheap one. I want the Delux version - and that is what I can't seem to find for sale on my usual places .... Can get it from the PS store but I like a physical disc.

I know it's gonna sting shelling out 80 quid, but I always get at least 300 hours game play from BF games, so it's pretty good value really.

£80 (or £70 with the current deal) is fine with me for exactly the same reason. I don't do a lot of gaming so only concentrate on one game at a time. I've been playing BF1 since release, I've had value for money far in excess of a few trips to the cinema.

The last trailer and info dump on V appealed to me, I'm convinced. I just want to pre order a physical copy of the deluxe version.
