I know it's gonna sting shelling out 80 quid, but I always get at least 300 hours game play from BF games, so it's pretty good value really.
Normally it is 40 now then 40 later for "premium" and the DLC etc - this is just paying it all up front IMHO....

No paid DLC this time, your deluxe/premium version now comes with regular cosmetic drops for the first couple of months.

Don't want to be rude but looked at Amazon to see if they had Delux, seems like the Xbox price is £70 but the PS4 is £90? WTF?

I think i might end up getting this having been disappointed by pretty much everything I've seen about Black Ops 4, or Black Ops 3.5 as it should more accurately be called. Clearly EA were badly stung by the Battlefront II fandango and with the stellar rise of Battle Royale games and the free to play / free updates model of Fortnight, it would seem EA have taken a step in the right direction. BO4 on the other hand is stuck in the past of charging for everything everywhere. They've loosened the strings a fraction, for example DLC maps will be free to play during seasonal events, then locked to people who don't own the season pass afterwards. But fundamentally you'll still have to pay for the maps and, whilst not yet announced, new guns will no doubt be behind a loot box system. I just don't see how they plan on re-energising CoD with that sort of approach.

I understand that BF V is closer to being a hitscan system than the other recent BF games have been. I can't say i'm a fan of projectile games online because if you're leading your aim at someone moving across your screen in the distance and miss, did you miss because your aim was out, or because of lag? I find that very frustrating, which is a shame because in principal i like the projectile system and offline games that use it i really enjoy.

Either way i think I'll wait until after the game has released to get a better idea of how the game will play out. Given the potential for cost structures within a game to ruin it these days, i think i'd rather wait to see what peoples thoughts are once it's out in the wild.

Actually... I see on CDkeys they have the standard version for £31.99... am I right in thinking that all i'll be missing out on if I get that is early access (meh) and a few cosmetic skins etc (double meh)? Despite my blasé attitude to paying £80 above, I think on reflection i'd rather pay £31 if ultimately I get the same amount of actual maps etc as anyone else. Correct?

HI,

Did anyone else play the closed alpha? Would like to know what you thought.
Got to say i enjoyed it, the way the guns handled and game play reminded me of battlefield 2. And the map and graphics where excellent.

Several gripes..... The speed that enemies can exit a tank - for instance while you're attaching explosives, the driver can get out, kill you and get in within a few seconds. It takes around 12 seconds to change drivers in a race car!
Damage to vehicles, I'm pretty sure the airships wouldn't stand a full minute of AA fire, yet one dusting from their guns wipes out a squad.
When you sneak up on someone and shoot them with them not knowing only for them to turn around and one shot you. There's no health loss /physical impairment even down to 1% . Even in bloody Fortnight if you get hit a few times you drop to the floor!
However the few times I played BF1 hardcore was ok, shots registered and a few rounds got the kill.
Still no doubt get the game, but not straight away, I'll see what the reviews are like.
Play hardcore. Much better. Lack of cross hairs and map being the best thing.

Looking forward to BF5. BF1 left me cold but possibly as I haven't the time to play and learn it properly these days (young baby in the house!).

Sadly not. Have you already pre-ordered V?

I pre-ordered a couple of days ago - price had gone up to £34, but there is a 5% discount code via the CDKeys facebook page that brought it down again.
Im sure I can live without these 20 weeks of airdrops (whatever they are). I don't bother with weapon skins in the current game...

I still haven't seen anywhere selling a (pre order) physical copy of BFV Deluxe on PS4 - it's PS Store download only it seems.

Am I looking in the wrong place or is it never going to arrive?

I'm still not fully onboard with digital only, I still like to buy CDs despite having Spotify, the same goes with PS4 games.

You and me both. I have to say I am pretty p**ed about that and will be seriously p**ed off if I can't get a physical copy of deluxe, if that is the case then I will get the basic version and to hell with it.

I know what you mean - given a choice i'd prefer a physical copy I can put on my shelf - but the reality is (certainly for PC games) that even if you get a disc, its only got a small % on the DVD anyway - 9gb? I think BF1 with all the expansions is >50gb. So if you have to download 90% of the game, you might as well download 100%...

That is the cheap one. I want the Delux version - and that is what I can't seem to find for sale on my usual places .... Can get it from the PS store but I like a physical disc.
The extra missions will be good but does anybody know if the Deluxe edition also includes the extra map packs? I paid the extra £40 or so for the BF4 maps (which were well worth it) but don't fancy shelling out £80 for the deluxe edition plus another £40 come new map time!

As I understand it this BF will not have "pay maps". They will all be included...
