Slightly Ot, but, Streets of Rage II is currently free for XBL gold members.

I lasted 10mins before being thoroughly bored of the repetitiveness, naff graphics and controls.

Definitely rose tinted glasses every time I try old games, shame really.

I remember buying the american import snes version of street fighter 2 about 6 months before it was out in the UK. It cost £100 back in the early 90's and took me 6 months of saving (i was 9).

I could complete it with guile, ryu and ken on the hardest difficulty without losing a round!

Iirc you couldnt be the same character in pvp

I enjoy watching youtube videos of the pro competitions for Street Fighter. What was 4 initially and then 5 nowadays.

I went out and bought a "PS4 Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai" and modified it with Sanwa buttons and so on.

Was great fun to get back into it and the levels that you play against nowadays are a bit mind blowing.

I've decided to pass on the 30th Anniversary edition as I have so many fighting games on my shelf and only really play SFV from time to time.

Have ever tried a proper fight stick? Even if you are not necessarily better as a result, it feels authentic.

I wouldn't say the umpteenth release of old street fighters is a bargain at £30, not like years have work have gone into this release... Should be £5!!

Sadly true. I bought a SNES mini for a bit of nostalgic gameplay. Had some fun on Super Mario Land, but games like Mario Kart and Street Fighter II were awful. I think a part of it is the old-fashioned controller without thumbsticks, so having the games on the PS4 would be an improvement in that sense.

After being quite excited about getting the SNES i'll be giving it to my niece and nephews this weekend with only a few hours played.

It's roughly £2.50 a title, compared to what I used to spend in the arcades before I discovered women and alcohol it's a bargain!

Yeah I've watched a few pro videos, it's crazy when you see them play sfv, I stopped playing around Sfa3, I prefer the classics if I'm honest which is why I can't wait for this.

I'll be picking up an arcade stick, had one for my Dreamcast years ago, I've always wanted an arcade cabinet really but my wife won't have it hehe

Buy or make your own tabletop MAME machine, you can always shove it in a cupboard when you're not using it.

I remember driving up to Electrocoin on the North Circular in my old Mk4 Escort Estate and putting a brand new SF2 CE into the back of it and then driving back to Bournemouth to install it at an arcade I was managing.

The queue of people eagerly waiting to play it was about 30 deep, of course I had to have the inaugural game to make sure it was all working properly. wink

They don't make them like that any more.
