looking at the car mastery skill points. is there a 'best use' for them?
i'm tempted to buy a Nissan R390 and use 90-odd points to unlock the GTR-LM.
are there any other good buys?
There are 5 in total at the moment. The one you have mentioned plus the following...i'm tempted to buy a Nissan R390 and use 90-odd points to unlock the GTR-LM.
are there any other good buys?
Muira = Reventon 'Horizon Edition'
300SL Gullwing = AMG SL65 Black Series 'Horizon Edition' (99 skill points on it's own!!!!)
TVR Sagaris = Sagaris 'Horizon Edition'
Maserati MC12 = MC12 'Horizon Edition
Edited to add... obviously you know that skill points are per car? You cannot use skill points earned with one car on another.
So the points earned with my Landie cannot be used on another car?
I was under the impression that they could be used elsewhere? I'm sure i've used some on a new car.
Oh well, R390 needs to be bought and the grind will re-commence.
if the game wasnt so much fun, i'd have an issue.
Unclear from your wording but you appear to be planning to buy a car and use skill points you already have?

So I wasted £1mil yesterday.
Clicking through my barn finds to add them all to my garage, some message pops up and I just button mash trying to get out of all the menus.
Next thing I know I'm a million down and it sounds like I may have accidentally paid to restore it early.
Watch out for this one, didn't even realise it was a thing
Yep you're not the only one that's done that. Did it on the first day Clicking through my barn finds to add them all to my garage, some message pops up and I just button mash trying to get out of all the menus.

Yes you definitely can. Skill points are just a pot you have, not per car.
Then this game has some stupid glitches! Was out in a car and earned about 15 skill points, didn't want to spend them so carried on as normal and ended up changing to another car for an off road race. When I earned a couple of skill points I had a look at what unlocks that car had and spent the skill points. I definitely only had 2 skill points available as they were back to 0 after I unlocked the first two tiles.
Assumed it was per car after that as after switching back to the first car again with a race change the 15 points were available again

Finally got to play this properly over the weekend, put in plenty of hours and it's great fun.
This game does a good job at throwing things at you left, right and centre at 100mph...seems like there is so much going on, but that keeps it interesting!
Is there any benefit to using different classes (eg 'Hot Hatches') when doing races or is it you just pick which you would like to race in?
Also are the houses actually worth buying or is it just another thing to waste money on?

You can choose any for the normal race events and it still counts as completing it.Eg. if you click on a circuit race and it says Hypercars, but you want to use Classic Racers, either Blueprint your own race settings so you can use the exact cars you want, or search the ones created by other players to see if one better fits the bill.
Essentially you could complete every race event in a single car, if you really wanted to. I think the only exception is the 'themed' races like the 007 seasonal ones, where they put you in a specific model of car.

Are people getting many Skill Songs on the radio?
I've being playing the game almost constantly since 28/09, bought every house bar the 2 castles within the first week (the Skill Song perk comes with one of the houses) and haven't heard a single one played.
They seemed to come on fairly regularly in Horizon 3, seems strange that I've yet to encounter a single one yet despite meeting the conditions and putting in so many hours....

I've had quite a few - i always listen to timeless FM - the songs are longer so you can get a 12 minute skills song and bang in 5m points I've being playing the game almost constantly since 28/09, bought every house bar the 2 castles within the first week (the Skill Song perk comes with one of the houses) and haven't heard a single one played.

I played for 2 hours straight last night and had 2 or 3 skill songs in that time i think. I probably had 8 or 10 over the weekend

I'll test it again tonight, try to keep the same station locked on for a couple of hours constant play, see if any pop up..
Newb question, I’m trying to get all the achievements done (I’m on 43/55) and whilst I wait for winter to end so I can get the last few PR stunts to three star, I can’t seem to find a race event called ‘The Trial’ where is this please?
The achievement for Ranked Team Adventure is proving the be a bd too as it never finds enough players to start a match.

It's the seasonal event, the red badge with the lion's head currently in the SE corner of the mapThe achievement for Ranked Team Adventure is proving the be a bd too as it never finds enough players to start a match.
I bought this game 2 days ago and haven’t had time to play it, I’ve been reading all the threads and watching game play videos (at work) and I’m really excited to play it, only worry is, how much do you need to play until you can get into the nice cars and have enough money to mod what you want?
With these games, I usually take the story or career mode seriously until I have enough money to do what I want and then just mess around with cars and make mr2’s 1000 bhp with rally car engines
The reason is because I took Forza motorsport 6 seriously and played it religiously, then 7 but got bored as it was more or less the same, just with a different interface and a few new cars. Horizon 3 I played it probably 3 times and gave up due to the unrealistic nature, like having you drive super cars on the beach as if you’re on grass, like races and that. This one looks good as it’s in the UK but I really can’t be bothered to do the same races or similar ones for ages until I get enough money. Anybody know if it’s worth it coz I haven’t opened it yet, can still return it.

Just downloaded on game pass. What a stunning looking game.
The racing's great, the bloody festival crap and story is detracting. It's not changed since the original, same banal crap but the games stunning.
Steering was awful but setting the deadzone to 5 and 85 has improved it no end. Not sure if have bothered after 2 and 3 as nothing much has changed. I don't think they've topped 1 yet, would be nice to see that remade like fh4.

It’s far more realistic than FH3, car classes, you can enter certain cars in certain races etc. With these games, I usually take the story or career mode seriously until I have enough money to do what I want and then just mess around with cars and make mr2’s 1000 bhp with rally car engines

E.g
Escort Cossie - rally
Dodge Durango SRT392 - cross country
M4 GTS - road
Skyline - street racing
It’s super easy to win far better cars.
You can also fit stupid engines!
Money is easy to come by too.
