Forza Horizon 4 !
Discussion
Maybe it’s just me, but I found all the ‘story’ to be contrived & annoying. I want to race, not spend time listening to non-skippable ‘blah’. Too much time spent looking at ‘win’ screens & lead-up images.
This is something that seems to get worse with each iteration of Forza/Forza Horizon, and so, like F7, I’ll pass.
It’s a shame, as it don’t half look good in 4k, but apart from a new map, it doesn’t appear to add anything positive to the gaming experience over Horizon 3, so I’ll just stick to that & wait 2-3 years until this inevitably comes free as a GWG offering.

Does it follow the same chat from previous, explaining the exact same play features of the previous ones? Seems silly but that put me off playing horizon 3This is something that seems to get worse with each iteration of Forza/Forza Horizon, and so, like F7, I’ll pass.

No one plays a racing game because of the story so take no notice of it.
There are lots of new elements to it, don't write it off without researching the actual features. And definitely don't base it on the demo.
Remember the demo is only to show you a glimpse of the graphics and some cars.
Those stupid cutscenes disappear once you've got through all the intro/tutorial bits (just like they do in FH3) then you can just crack on with playing the game how you want.

I've been playing the demo the last couple of days and the game looks stunning, I can look out of my window and see Bridge House and here it is in the game!
Its great driving around and recognising land marks, you can even go into Honister slate mine

Especially when the badly voiced girl mentioned it was 'designed in the UK'...I was shouting at the TV asking why it wasn't bloody RHD then!!
I did exactly the same thing!I thought the demo was alright, I prefer more sim type racing games though, so won't be getting this. Think I'm gonna take the plunge for f1 2018 instead.

Sort of, and Kirkstone pass but the roads are much more open and flowing in the game, the road layouts have a lot of artistic license (obviously) and you go from Ambleside to Broadway instead of Bowness for example, but a lot of the landmarks and villages are recognisable, I love it as I can emulate my drive home in a McLaren Senna instead of a TDI VW The_Jackal said:

Quite right but the way it constantly tries to force you into the story whether you want to or not is annoying - guess I'm a bit impatient, hence why I ditched Project Cars as I didn't want to spend 800 years perfecting the steering input of a robin reliant to stop it doing a 720 every time you breathed on the stick! There are lots of new elements to it, don't write it off without researching the actual features. It's on the Xbox Games Pass at release so you can download and play it as much as you want for free (assuming you're already a passholder).Russian Troll Bot said:

Who is using a pad and who is using a wheel? Not sure I can be bothered to set up the wheel I have for this? Worth it or is it a bit too arcade? Much easier to jump in and out with a pad!
Forza games have always been optimised for the pad. There are always people complaining about the wheel integration especially on pc.George Smiley said:

Believe me the story crap stops after it has been through all the features. I hate stories as well in car games.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
