First few goes this morning.

That's one hell of a time Space smokin

Will have to try and find an alternative car to see if I can get close.

Enjoying it so far, decent mix of technical, drifting and speed.
What position to choose for next week?

Early days but the Lotus is quite good, albeit twitchy.

The Frogeye Sprite, Honda S800 and Rover SD1 have similar potential times i noticed.

Great choice of track. It's one of those that feels like you will never get the 'perfect' lap.

Tricky to get a clean run! Tried Imp and 131 so far, can’t even break 3 minutes!! What’s wrong with me? Also, how do you view leaderboard?

When you choose the PI rating as you set up the rivals event, your rival appears on the right of the screen. Press Y, then X a couple of times to skip through the various lists until you see the PSTN club list.

You'll be amazed how quickly you improve doing this, I certainly have.

Really hard track this week. It’s almost impossible to get a clean fast run.

Apologies Andy, just try sticking at it and don't necessarily redstart every time you do mess up (unless it's very early on of course).

Apart from the corner before the bridge I'm not finding it so bad, but there is a corner near the end just after a jump which is pretty tough to get right.

I'm enjoying it, but getting tank slappers near the end and just can't get around hairpins quickly

Down to second at the braking marker and blast the handbrake, I almost skid to a stop actually on the flag.
Slides are not your friend, try and get the power down, if it feels slower it should be faster.

I can never pull up our leaderboard until I've set a time, which took a while laugh

Its a good course.

See if you can find a tuning combo of engine/drivetrain that makes use of all the 843 points you are allowed.
I notice you're on 835 at the moment and maxing it out up to the limit could be worth a fair bit of time.

On the 131, try 4wd with full rally tyres and adjustable differential. If you adjust the acceleration on the front and rear diff you can make it easier to drive on the gravel (something like 20% front / 50% rear accel and power balance in the middle at 50%) This will make getting on the power without the rear stepping out more manageable.

Running the tyres at a low pressure will help too, maybe 22-23psi. Just go steady-ish on the first bit of tarmac until they build up some temp.

Mate, don’t be sorry. I didn’t mean to sound like I was being negative, it’s just a hard track.

I don’t reset unless it’s quite early especially after reading that the faster guys on here don’t so you learn the track properly- which makes sense.

I think my issue is the amount the car moves on the loose surface.

Will these setting work similar for the ‘77 Escort? Another area I lack in is tuning. But I’m eager to learn and not put off by it at all.

Yes, i use those as a rough rule of thumb, base to build on. I'm sure everyone has their own version but this works for me.

Probably the best thing i've learned from these races is to follow your own ghost which will highlight where you are strong and weak on the track then combine all the 'strong' sections together. You can gain huge amounts of time If you experiment with trying different lines versus yourself such as taking a wider entry into a corner or taking a later apex etc.

Yes, they're a good base setting.
I tend to soften the front too as I find it helps with turn in and understeer.
The car i used I've also actually got on race suspension but rally tyres, it just seemed to work better.

Thirded

Although I do open thr front diff a little more to decrease understeer if needed.

Sp4ces time is fantastic, I've got closer but it's pushing me to my limit! Though I haven't tried the lotus yet.

One thing I find a little annoying on this game is how different two cars with similar stats can be. Or indeed, when you may have more power for the same weight and the same handling PI but you can't get anywhere close to the apparently 'worse' specced car.

There is alot of time to be saved on getting the lines right on the gravel section, particularly towards the end.

Something else aswell, to get the best from those settings make sure TCS is all the way off. It will strangle the power on tarmac let alone on gravel.
Try driving at 8-9 tenths without it and you will go faster in the end.
