Although I do open thr front diff a little more to decrease understeer if needed.

Sp4ces time is fantastic, I've got closer but it's pushing me to my limit! Though I haven't tried the lotus yet.

One thing I find a little annoying on this game is how different two cars with similar stats can be. Or indeed, when you may have more power for the same weight and the same handling PI but you can't get anywhere close to the apparently 'worse' specced car.

There is alot of time to be saved on getting the lines right on the gravel section, particularly towards the end.
I've no idea how i got round in that time, i outbraked myself at the road to gravel transition near the start aswell.
I can't even replicate that lap wobble

Will have to try and improve after a good espresso.

In the end though with enough laps and a MC setup it will be beatable by a fair margin i would think.

I still think MC should have a similar penalty to M vs A.

We can always just compete for the M category, like the paralympics hehe

If PI +3 is working for the automatics would PI -3 work for MC?

Yes, I tend to go to 12 on the front.
Oh its bizarre how it differs from car to car.
I'm really slow over the bridge on the gravel section and the first road bit I find is very important in setting a good time.

Yes, they're a good base setting.
I tend to soften the front too as I find it helps with turn in and understeer.
The car i used I've also actually got on race suspension but rally tyres, it just seemed to work better.
Something else aswell, to get the best from those settings make sure TCS is all the way off. It will strangle the power on tarmac let alone on gravel.
Try driving at 8-9 tenths without it and you will go faster in the end.
Definitely, I'm pretty sure I have them off bit I do have to stick with abs.
Smoothly does it on this one, lots of feathering the throttle.

I included the +3 for Auto to try and dial out any manual advantage. With limited tuning the 3 PI should enable a race clutch or gearbox to help out. But on this challenge as I assume everyone is using 4wd the clutch and Gearbox benefits are negated so the additional PI will just have to be used on a little extra power or a little less weight or maybe thicker tyres.

Quite enjoying this week on the limited time I’ve had to play. Managed to get my escort into top 5 but still a fair bit off the ridiculous #1 time.

If anyone’s chasing a sub 2:50 lap I’ve shared my escort tune. Share code is 612 427 176 or just search pstn in the description smile

If you're sub 1:50 you've taken a shortcut hehe

YES! I finally beat someone (sorry MattFuey)

The lower tyre pressure seemed to make a subtle difference and adjusting the diffs as was suggested earlier, so thanks for the ideas. I'm almost on the first page smile plus I managed it in a lovely little MGA (I refuse to compete in cars I don't like!)

If you still get more understeer than you'd like after the diff changes. Try stiffening up the rear ARB more than the front setting.
You will get a more pointy front end which can help a car like the MGA

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I've just managed to go sub 2:50 with the little Elise , which is also worth looking at

Congrats, it's quite easy to get disheartened and start over driving the car on a track like this, once you get some muscle memory of the turns you can end up almost on auto-pilot and surprise yourself. driving

Ha, oh yes , definitely Elan, a slight slip. Although I painted it red so probably has a big speed advantage now that might not be allowed !!

I painted mine in carbon fibre to make it lighter.
